@doubledogdare: I’m sure that’s a bit of a joke, but there’s literally a trail called “cut yer bars” in Whistler. Lots of old school trails have knuckle buster trees!
Yeah, there is some great work been done there in the last couple of years (that's a big THANK YOU to te builders!!). There are some great flow and jump zones plus some pretty awesome tech stuff (like Goldmine/Cabin Trail) up there too!!
@lastminutetech: yeah all those nice soft wooden lips on the landings... case city for this old dog. I’ll pull out all the excuses if I found myself on that trail now. I’m old, the wife will kill me, I’ve already broken a hip... hahaha
Annnnnd doom the spot. Serial offender Gullevich. What won’t you do for a grip of likes? We built this stuff and you come out and ride it without ever throwing a shovel of dirt, then have enough of a sense of entitlement to throw it on the PB front page. Pathetic. We don’t doom your spots despite knowing precisely where the vast majority of them are, it’d be cool if you showed the same courtesy. Obviously this trail is on Trailforks, but there’s plenty others around that area that aren’t, for good reason. Because they can’t handle a crowd of kooks, and the kooks sure as hell can’t handle the trails. The no dig no ride principle should apply to washed up pros too.
Dude it's in the f*cking woodlot, and on trailforks with tons of video already circulating... shits going to get bombed no matter what. Don't want people riding your shit... built it far away tucked up in the woods. Otherwise this trail is totally fair game for anyone to ride, shoot and publish. Usually builders that build sick trails in an openly available, accessible spot and put it on trailforks = they are stoked for anyone to ride and even more stoked for it to get some exposure.
Big respect for building and maintaining such an amazing trail. Eat shit for the salty comment and personal attacks.
Yup- Gullevich blows up a spot every day during the pandemic on Instagram Squamish - check (Easily 2 -3 times a week ) Mission -check , Maple ridge - you bet! The Shore - of course. He must be getting incentives from go pro or someone . By the way - dont you have to go through west Stave Lake park to get to the Woodlot trails - thats a no no - Same goes for Alice Lake trails
I love the fact that your calling gully washed up get a f@$* clue 1. Look at the sponsors he has all big names 2. He gets paid to freeride and have fun on his bike 3. The amount of time he has dug on trails and put in maitnaice is more than 80% of people on this site. I am sure if you are a real rider that you have gone and ridden other places and enjoyed it my guess is you have not brought a shovel and helped build on the trials you have ridden. That fact you are shitting on him just goes to show what a troll you are. This is the only pink bike "comment" you have on your account, way to be a part of the mtn bike community. Keep your shitty comments to your self. Gully is a huge name and I would go as far as a legend in the mountain bike world show and has done so much for it and keeps on giving, show the guy some props. Don't feed the troll boys
Why are mountain bikers so elitist about this sort of thing? I've never ridden the Woodlot but I can't imagine too much rider traffic is a problem there. The only trails in the sea to sky outside the bike park that have legit traffic are like Bobsled, Expresso and Half Nelson. And even those it's only on the weekend on a nice day when traffic actually becomes an issue. How many new people are going to ride this trail after seeing this video? Maybe 100... but perhaps that's over the course of the summer. How does that impact anyone? You really think the trail is going to get ruined and have brake bumps everywhere? Not a chance.
@regdunlop: Dude... this is the guy's job, it's what he gets paid to do. And right now, like Remy and many of the other pros out there right now, I don't see him pushing anything... this was an easy jaunt for him, completely well within his comfort zone.
And no, you don't, the woodlot is basically right off of Dewdney Trunk and is on private land.
@woodlot007: Then take it off.. as the builder you have that power. And they'll keep it off if you ask them. Don't want jabronis on it... then don't built it right in the middle of the f*cking woodlot! And don't build easy ride arounds on every single feature... almost looks like it was built for dad and his kids if you ask me. Any trail I've been on that is not built for jabronis has a significant squirrel catcher, no ride arounds, is off trailforks and requires knowledge and a hike to get to.
If you don't think it needs those things, and you want to keep it safe from Jerry's... you're fooling yourself. Sick build, but expect to have to maintain that trail because it's purpose built for the jabroni crowd.
@woodlot007: haha, I know them well and if you're following them in a know area, you're building a trail for everyone. If you're not, you're building one where they won't find you... or it's just for one fun summer and you move on. Take care and happy building!
I came into this video (having never ridden this zone) wanting to agree with you. However, this trail is far too accommodating. If you want to build a big freeride line, make it inaccessible. With all the roll-arounds, I could send my drunk girlfriend down this on my '98 Stumpjumper. Based on the location an double-single-quadruple-track, this is not a pirate trail. If you want to build gnarly stuff: 1) hide it, 2) make it HARD, 3) no roll-arounds, 4) don't build in a Strava'd zone, and EASIEST OF ALL 5) make a massive squirrel-catcher (even bike parks do this, enduro dirt bike races have done this for decades) at the beginning. Let people know they don't belong, immediately. Having purpose-build roll-arounds on a freeride line is ludicrous.
Not all on private land, do your homework kook. Tough talk from a f*cking E-thug who comments on literally every article. Go ride pussy. @islandforlife:

Is the trail on trail forks or is it a finder?
