After a long Norwegian winter, the snow has finally started to melt, and the trails of this MTB paradise of the north are slowly coming out of hibernation. Shovels and machines are coming out in the light again, trail crew beards are blossoming, the bike shop is on its way up, and 55 fresh Scott Gambler rental bikes are on their way to complete our new fleet of 130 downhill bikes. June 18th is this year’s opening date, and we have an exciting season ahead of us!

NEW TRAIL!

For years Hafjell has been known to build progressive and demanding trails, especially the Rollercoaster trail, which we are very proud of. This year we are doing something for the complete opposite to Rollercoaster. We have seen that we need something more for beginners and youngsters coming to experience the joy of cruising a bike park. We promise an easy, flowy trail with small tables, rollers, and smooth berms, stretching from the top of the gondola down to the mid station. Opening date is hopefully August 1st.

RACING

No season in Hafjell is complete without some proper racing. With the continued absence of the World Cups we are now focusing on the Norwegian racing scene, and this year we will be hosting the Norwegian Downhill Championship on August 21st, on the same track as the 2014 World Championship. The stage is set for a great race, and even though it’s a Norwegian Championship, racers from all over the world are more than welcome to join in on the action on the famous track. Will anyone be able to shut the door for 5-time champion, Isak Leivsson of the Propain Dirt Zelvy Team, or the up-and-coming junior, Brage Vestavik from Devinci Global Racing?

For the first time ever, we are bringing the Enduro racing scene to our area, and the final stage of the Norwegian Enduro Series will be held on September 17th in the bike park and the surrounding areas. Check the event page for more information.

GIRL CAMPS

Last season’s camps from the crew in IVRIG girl camps turned out to be a great success, and they are ready for more action this year. With the best instructors in Norway, the best bike park and a packed schedule with skill clinics for all levels, tours, and a social program, these weekends are definitely something to check out for all girl shredders out there. More info about these camps to come.

I think it's the first promo video that features riders going slower than me Smile

That`s actually one of the reasons I like it so much. Not that they go slower than you, I have no idea how fast you are, but that it shows that the park is for everyone, not just the superfast sideways-going pros. We all know that Hafjell is a great place for skilled riders, but it is a good thing that it is possible for normal people like me to go there and have a good time as well. It is, after all, necessary to cater all needs if a park like Hafjell is to survive. Riders like these girls are the ones that keeps the park open. Especially here in Norway. The market is just not big enough to just make superfast, supersteep, technical and difficult trails.

this is like a cheesy edm video or festival promo. it only shows hot girls to attract men but it'll really be a sausage fest. Having said that it is a great video and the venue looks sick! especially with that drone shot and futuristic looking up-lift.
