Video: Friday Fails #232
yeah, not great that just pushing the bike forward like that and hoping it works out has become a fairly popular drop "technique" it seems. wonder why... but really have to wonder how many are being hurt nowadays. personally, I hardly hear about injuries at all unless it's a prominent pro.

Video: Friday Fails #232
By the look of it I'd say that resulted in a concussion at least. it's the kind of hit I'd want a moto lid for...

Video: Are Longer Bikes Really Faster?
This is the biggest thing about long bikes for many riders these days; a long bike makes bad body position and balance closer to acceptable and can same riders from themselves when things get hairy. one huge thing about short bikes is that your longitudinal balance has to be spot on at all times and most riders don't seem to understand how that works...

Darren Berrecloth Fractures Vertebrae in Crash
@mayha49: This is one of the reasons I like to hike up higher-consequence, lower-traffic trails before first run. one of the few times I didn't, there was a tree down on the landing of a blind drop.

Concussion Baseline Testing for BC Enduro Series Events
@bigmike9699: wearing a moto lid will usually result in the lowest G force to the brain for a given hit. also probably more likely to stay where it needs to be during a crash. A big, smooth shell and thick foam liner have few alternatives.

Markus Stöckl Hits 167.6 km/h on a Mountain Bike - Video
@BikeEveryDay: honestly, a heavier bike would have been faster. in this case, I think a long, heavy 29er with 7 inches of very active suspension is ideal. more weight = higher terminal velocity, bigger wheels = less rolling resistance, especially on that terrain...

Pinkbike Poll: Convertible Full-Face Helmets - Yea or Nay?
Did this happen recently? I know 15 or so years ago switchblade failures were a famous thing... honestly, I'm surprised they kept the name.

Pinkbike Poll: Convertible Full-Face Helmets - Yea or Nay?
I"d say one helmet and one bike aren't enough to do literally everything. when I ride DH and big features etc. I want nothing less than a moto helmet and a bike that wont implode when things get interesting. my hardtail and open helmet are fun for commuting and XC type stuff. doing one kind of thing with the other type of equipment kind of sucks...
