Yeeeeeah Brook "Bulldog" Macdonald! NEEEEW ZEEEALANDD!!!

BROOK you da man. You had me on the edge of my seat the whole run. Fast, on the brink, but controlled. Well deserved and congrats on your 1st WC win!!!
  • 4 1
 That run was epic!!!!
  • 9 1
Yeah after that run i don't think many people care about the overall. Everyone knew he was going to take it so its not like it was a nail biter. But still, congrats to Gwin for taking the overall.

One of the best, loosest, on the edge runs ever. Was sure he was going to crash and it didn't happen, awesome! Can't believe Nick Beer walked away from his one.

 Yes, Mr. Beer.'s crash was...

Where can I watch a replay?

 god f*ck gwin GO STEVIE!!!

Had, someone come between Greg and Aaron - Greg would still have a chance - but there aren't enough points awarded between 4th and 5th - 1st and 2nd yes, So that ten points more over the 250 (win and quaili combined) - 260 can not be beat. Gwin can stay home. Greg would have needed to win in Norway and basically, Aaron fall way back - - not likely. Say what you will, Aaron is a champion.
The worlds should be awesome!

So where would Minnaar have had to place for him to take the lead over Gwin?
  • 1 0
Gwin has a 260 point lead. If minnar won quali and the final he would only get 250. Do the math! Wink
  • 2 0
I simply could not be arsed Wink If Minnaar had won the finals today he would've stopped Gwin clinching the overall today so where could he have finished an still kept the contest open is what I meant, not taken the lead, doh.
  • 2 0
I think if there was someone between Gwin and minnar then there could of been a chance!

This was such a great day of racing! but I'm sure the Antigwins won't be very happy about this...
  • 2 0
ha ha antigwin love the gwin jokes

That race was highly entertaining! Congrats to Gwin. Sam Hill and Mitch Ropeleto have incredible style on their bikes respectively...it would be great to see them put together an entire run at speeds they are capable of. Anyone know Mitch's contract situation? Trek is looking for a rider in the off season. I think Spesh should hold onto him but Trek could have the only all American team (manufacturer and all three riders).
  • 3 0
I'm glad you mentioned Ropelato. To me, his run was the best to watch. Jump for show and corner for dough... and we know Mitch can corner!

Stoked for Rachel, she really deserves an overall win this year!

She has been doing well especially since she missed the first race!

Does anyone know where I can watch the replay??
  • 2 0
I have the same question. Usually it's right on the main page...
  • 2 0
^That's the gay highlight video man, we want the full replay. Same problem here I can't find the stupid thing, and I've always been able to watch it in the past...
  • 1 0
Sorry. That one was working (you had to fast forward through the opening clip) until about 2:00 yesterday.
  • 1 0
no worries hombre, just sucks it's not up.

The overall may be wrapped-up, but there's still a lot of shuffling that could happen amongst the top 10-20 in Norway. Gee's result this week made things very interesting between himself and his good ol' nemesis/buddy Greg.

Great to see the curse of the WC championship didn't haunt Gwin like it tends to do the reigning champ. Congrats on back-to-backs, Aaron! It's time to end the 12yr drought - go for the gold @ Leogang!
  • 6 2
Let's stick together for the Gman's next win and 2nd overall ! New team and new bike... He deserves it ! And yeah... stoked for Rachel !
  • 2 0
Nice job to Gwin, Hopefully next session it will be Gee's. With this year to get to grips with the new bike/team and again hopefully starting next session injury free i'm sure he'll be more of a force to deal with. Third or possibley a second maybe is great for this year though Smile
  • 2 0
You can't tell by looking at his results, but Gee has had a pretty bad year in regards to injuries. That is quite impressive in its own right. The year before it was all about mechanicals. He's waaaaaay due.
  • 7 2
I wish they have downhill in Olympic's and USA should have gotten Gold...
  • 3 2
it would be a horrifically lame course like the XC course
  • 4 1
It would be a New Zealand Gold today...
  • 2 0
Apparently there's no downhill because the track changes too much from rider to rider which can make it unfair...but I don't see why that isn't a problem with xc too.
  • 1 0
I hate the whole "Track changes too much"... And in the winter olympics Alpine Skiing courses stay exactly the same....

DH>everything currently in Olympics.

Great race! Congrats to Bulldog and to Gwin on the overall. Just an observation but I noticed a few mistakes, (unless I'm reading them wrong) in the standings on this page, says Gwin came in (6), Cole (5), noticed a few others also. Maybe I have no idea how to read these standings...
  • 7 2
 Didn't see that one coming...
  • 1 0
You just overloaded my sarcasm machine. Smile
  • 3 0
That is the kind of racing and results I want to see and watch. Mix it up and make it exciting. Would have been good to see Hart and Brosnan.
  • 1 0
hi all sorry to be a bit dull here but i'm lost as they said on the day that if minnar beats him there is still a chance, so i have to ask first of all did minnar come in behind gwin? and if so why did they say that there is still a chance??
not that i want gwin to loose it or that he would loose it i mean bloody hell the guy is bionic man Smile LOL
just want to know for my own information cheers Smile
  • 7 3
 USA!!!! what? ??? Hold that
  • 4 0
Great to see Stevie right up there.
  • 4 0
Well chuffed for miami bryce, good to see him on a podium for once!
  • 2 0
I was rooting for him to take the win. I think he could have done it if he got on the pedals a bit.... But I'll never be at that level of riding so I can't say :L

And just so you know, he was 5th at Ft Bill
  • 1 0
i know, but he's not on the podium all the time like gee and minnaar was my point
  • 2 0
He's about to bust one out - worlds, perhaps??
  • 3 0
congrats Gwin. Overall champion is the ONLY legit champion. Screw the one race 'World Championships'...what a lame joke.
  • 2 1
I don't get it.. if Gwin doesn't qualify and won't race in Norway and Minaar qualifies and finishes first, wouldn't he have more points than Gwin?
  • 1 0
or they give 50 for quali and 200 for the win?
  • 9 2
Why wouldnt a top 20 qualify ? hes protected so its guarenteed.
The max minnar can get is 250 so its sealed.

PROPS to Gwin , you schooled them !
  • 6 0
Max possible from both qualifying and winning is 250 points.
  • 1 0
Gwin could sit track-side on a lawn chair and he'll still be WC champ by no less than 10pts if Minnaar won both qualis and finals.
  • 4 1
 Aaron Gwin ハンパない!
