Picture of the Month is an article showcasing the best Pictures of the Day from the month before. We take the most viewed photos from the previous month, and pick our favorites out of the top 10.

This month is a little different than past months in that we've put a photo that didn't have the most views into first place. The reasoning is that it's easily our favorite photo of the month, and while it doesn't have the craziest action of the best whip, it is the most beautiful by far, and it has a lot of great photographic effort put into. I can't knock any of the World Cup photographers in any way, I've been there, I know how much work is involved and how hard it can be to come up with a great shot in adverse conditions. But there is a different type of creativity and effort required to come up with something like Steve Lloyd did here, and it's not something that is just given to you. Let us know what you think.

Has to be the Hart or Pilgrim pics for me, probably Pilgrim, I mean it's huge and so well composed.

..except the fact he's not gaping that hole

When I saw this as POD, I instantly felt it should be picture of the year, glad to see it made POM under unique circumstances.

There's a big difference between gapping a hole and gaping one...!

Surprised that number 4 is getting little love, sure its not the biggest, burliest bit of action, but the level of steeze in that photo is just ridiculous

Seriously curious why mine didn't even make honorable mention, from a photographers stand point. Ian. Rip me apart.

You smashed the most viewed shots here, haha! Better picture than most of these too.

Chris, you got the most favorites out of every photo last month. Don't let Ian not mentioning it in the photo of the month bother you too much. You, me, and 1447 other pinkbikers realize that shot was gold. Keep it up dude, you're a very good photographer!

The first rule of the internet is... the internet is serious business.

@chris...I think it was because yours wasn't uploaded in June. All of those photos were uploaded in June including the Honorable Mention. I still think yours was one of the sickest POD's this month just because of the vantage point! Keep up the great work!

Makes sense. Damn, alcohol and Internet don't mix. I had quite a few when I commented haha. Thanks everybody.

Yeah, sorry about that Chris, it's just the way the system for POM works, it's based on photos that were uploaded in the previous month. Your photo is very deserving, but back in October when it was uploaded it probably didn't have nearly as many.

I actually gotta apollogise for that. Quite unprofessional to do the Interwebs while drinking and camping. My bad.

I dig Lloyd's darkside of the moon. For me, beyond the ride Mtn biking is about experiencing nature. This photo is nature on acid. Ride the King's Highway.

The run Danny Hart did this year was incredible. He hucked it hardcore even in the rain and mud...

Toss up between Roy & Sam for me, but the OTB is one of those that can make you cringe, so it deserves a lot for that.
