In an incredible final Roger Rinderknecht has taken the win and become the new World 4X Champion, just in time to announce his retirement. Up against Tomas Slavik, David Graf, and Michael Mechura it looked like it was going to be an incredibly tight race. But moments after the start Slavik got tangled with Graf and they both went down hard before the first corner, leaving Rinderknecht and Mechura to battle it out for the win. Roger had the lead from the first corner and never let it go.
In the womens race the only real surprise was that Melissa Buhl was disqualifed from the Final for allegedly crossing a lane line. This after she'd been told she had made the final. Celine Gros took her place in the final while Buhl went to the small final. Anneke Beerten went into the lead straight out of the gate but she had to fight off Romana Labounkova for a good part of the race. Anita Molcik crashed out about half way through, leaving Celine Gros to place third.

Don't see why the uci took it from world cups but kept it at worlds? Everyman loves it and that is shown at the dh world cup where the world 4x series joins like fort William!
What's weird though is that at most past World Cups (not worlds) there would be MAYBE 10 pro riders but now with the introduction of the 4X pro tour those races attract upwards of 40 or 50 riders. So obviously there are still many riders out there interested. I wish they'd bring it back to the US or at least DS
4x is awesome! only think tracks should be more like mx tracks. I specially miss the all the small bumps in a row section.. Don't know whats it's called. Pic: img687.imageshack.us/img687/3341/4xtrack.jpg
yeah whoops is what i mean. As nehuen93 already said, before the finish line is the best place for them. Really have to fly/ manual over them. you don't want to plant your front wheel between two. Think they are nice for slomo vids too see the suspension working an the chain slapping all around
here we call this section, camels! ahah
"in mtb would be difficult to gain speed back after the whoops.."
nehuen you are wrong. it can boost speed too.
