Disagree, just cause Rheeder did a flat drop fronty doesn't mean he just gets the win. Semenuk did a super dumped 720, flip transfer, a flip whip off the redbull freebird, and an arsenal of opposite tricks including an opp. 3 off of the drop. That's how you get the win.
Is that not an oppo whip for rheeder off the gopro canon or is he shit footed for tailwhips? Also oppo three off the jump after the geax step up. I agree that rheeder should have won against Semenuks first run, but I'm sure Semenuk would've done an even better run for his second run if he had to
Sure he landed just as many sick tricks as semenuk did, except semenuk landed every single one of them perfect. Except for the cork 7, he was a little rear heavy on that, but who can blame him.
Semenuks Opp. 3s and whips were perfect. Rheeder was a little sketch on his. Take a look guys.
BTW I'm not saying this to put Rheeder down, I'm just trying to prove that he was, in fact, a point behind Semenuk.
oops i guess we commented at the same time, was meant for ballabika, and i couldnt agree more with you, plus semenuk imo out did every one but soderstrom in the satellite dishes
Tie, Semenuk(because he realized flip tables are for brown nosers and reg flips look better and are equally difficult), Semenuk, tie, Semenuk, Rheeder, Semenuk, Rheeder, Rheeder, Semenuk, tie(debatable, but minor), Tie.
Mine would go: Tie, Rheeder, Semenuk, semenuk, semenuk, rheeder, semenuk, rheeder, rheeder, rheeder, rheeder, semenuk. Neither of them slipped a pedal for the whole run either.
One banger thrown in a run does not equate a podium. The comp is judged on so many factors. I'm not saying Semenuk should have won or not, but I will say that his entire run was flawless and the difficultly was on par with everyone else's. I can't wait to see what he does when he actually goes into his final run not in first place.
One banger does a run make if it's cam zink doing a 360 off the icon sender at rampage. It was not a best trick comp, but he won it on one trick. That front flip Rheeder did was the sickest move in all them videos and he should have got a lot of points for balls alone
I also do not think Zink should have gotten first at Rampage. The 360 was the sickest air done... ever, but his run other than that was medicore at best. Gee's run was ridiculous top to bottom... fast, big airs, flowy and a huge hip at the bottom. Again, Zink's 360 was the biggest ever, but he did not have the best overall run. Just my opinion.
to jaame, no a banger does not make a run, if it were a best trick contest, it would be held on one feature, the point of slopestyle is to link up all the bangers and style into one sweet run
To be honest, I think that Semenuk's cork 7 takes more skill than a flat drop fronty. Just watch the slow mo of all the different directions semenuk looks and hucks his body. Cause for a fronty, all you have to do is chuck one direction till u see the ground, but Semenuk is looking all over the place when he's in the air.
It's insanely close though. And everyones not as stoked to see brandon's 7 anymore cause he's already unleashed it in other comps, but then again, Rheeder deff deserves points for being the first and only person to do it too.
Just my opinion though.
Agreed, Gee should have won rampage. Zink's run was nice, but Gee's was better top to bottom (except the 360) in my opinion. If we're splitting hairs, I can see how Semeuk got the win. To the layman, like me, Rheeder's run looked the best.
I can understand why a lot of people think this though:
How to win a slopestyle comp: 1. Be Brandon Semeuk 2. Turn up
Branden definitely deserved podium, but I don't think he deserved first place. And Sam Pilgrim should of been on the podium, not sure where, but that backflip from flat was siiiick.
Totally right. Personally, I think Semenuk deserved it for such a clean run with tech tricks, but I wouldn't have held it against anyone if any of the next 3 riders took the win. That was the closest comp I can remember ever, top 4 were all amazing.
i jumped out my chair watching Rheeder's frontie live ..
Brett's flip table looks bigger and his freebird flip whip looks like he went bigger imo
not to say that it wasn't just as amazing to see what i thought was a flip 360 in brandon's run
Cmon, guys... Semenuk had much more confident and solid tricks... Clean landings, accurate barspins etc.. Semenuk definitely got skills. Rheeder is not good enought in these little things for now. That's why he's only 2nd.
Semenuk did not deserve the win. Yes, his run was smooth and constantly skillfull, but the backflip off the drop - it's innovation and originality - wasn't rewarded highly enough. Pilgrim's run wasn't that much worse than Semenuk's in the other areas to merit him getting the win. The bottom line is, and deny this you're blatantly hiding from the truth, if Semenuk had done Pilgrim's run he would have received a higher score.
To offer an analogy: there's a contest with 2 dirt jumps. Pilgrim does a 360 to quad tailwhip, and Semenuk does a 360 one hander to single tailwhip. The hoards scream COMBO FROM SEMENUK!! and he gets the win. That's the point I'm making.
if pilgrim and semenuks runs were identical, of course Semenuk would win because he does all the tricks with way for style, flow, and steeze then Pilgrim ever could. Your just mad because your precious Brit didn't win and that Semenuk is probably going to come back after missing half the events and still beat pilgrim in the overall as well as all the contests.
i wish they made it a rule to make guys run a full suspension bike with gears to keep mountain biking at its roots. not basically a big 20 inch bike. cool to see martin throw down on his ht but a fully is for slope and hardtails are for dj comps. just my opinion
What jumps are you refering to?
What you just said does not make sense.
So that's Semenuk - 5
Rheeder - 3
Hope that settles this.
Tie, Rheeder, Semenuk, semenuk, semenuk, rheeder, semenuk, rheeder, rheeder, rheeder, rheeder, semenuk. Neither of them slipped a pedal for the whole run either.
I can understand why a lot of people think this though:

but he should have gotten points for not wearing a brotank
