Earlier this year I had a chance to spend a few days shooting with Kirt Voreis for DEITY Components in California. Two years ago we shot a video project for Niner Bikes in the desert outside of Barstow, and while we made a really fun video and got some epic shots on that trip, we knew we weren't completely done with the location. Matt Collins came along to shoot video, and Kirt's friend Danny Silva helped out with everything. Big ups to those two for the amazing work! Kirt had a few new Fox Racing kits as well as the new Speedframe helmet so after shooting the desert we decided to shoot some trail riding footage as well. On the second day we hit up an old DH trail that Kirt new of near Arrowhead.

bigquotesI took a quick trip to SoCal in Feb. to meet up with Ian Hylands and Matt Collins for a DEITY Components photo shoot. We hit up Calico Ghost town outside of Barstow and then got some trail shots near Arrowhead, Ca. Was hoping for more footage but my ankle was missing home, ha. Always stoked to work with Matt and Ian on these projects.Kirt Voreis

Weird how they wrote Crestline instead of Trinidad, Colorado.

Kurt is the king of arsing about on his bike, never too serious but always super sick!
I can’t get the hang of nose bonks, I always end up looking/feeling really awkward and like I’m gonna go over the bars!

Ah, I've been off the scene for a while now and it's good to come back and see an old favourite rider still shredding. I like the photo strapping up the wrists and hands like a boxer and wearing shoe like Floyd Mayweather haha!

Based on the pictures, Kirt spends only about 30% of his time on the ground, the rest in the air.

What the hell is going on with the front brake man?
  • 3 2
Did you not see the barspins?
  • 2 0
@dirtyburger: Yep, just wondering how he's got it routed... No need to be so snippy.
  • 1 0
@Abacall: front brake line through your steerer tube.
  • 1 0
@Abacall: he has a how to video on his instagram showing how he routes his brake so he can do bar spins!
  • 4 0
I run the front brake line up steerer tube. I have to cut a couple flanges off the star-nut so the line can run up past and out of the top of steerer. I also cut a notch in top cap so brake line can run thru and top cap can be secured.

@Voreis: Sweet! Thanks @Voreis , appreciate that. Rippin' as usual.

 Excellent as usual.
