I feel like your standard FF slam comes in 5 basic forms: 1) Weight too far forward, 2) Too much brakes, 3) Trying to stop the bike instead of riding it out, 4) Not enough speed, 5) Off balance before the lip, or a combination of all 5 - not that many are from just pushing too hard?

Working in the industry there is a bit of gouge for sure but actually its mostly the cost of transporting EVERYTHING from components to finished bikes. Logistics costs are like +400% - its nuts.
