For my friends and I the season started with a warmup Enduro race in Kalpalinna - South Finland.

Matti Lehikoinen was also racing and showing some glimpses of the speed he hopefully will display on this years' EWS.

June is a mandatory fly fishing season for me and I don´t have that much time to spend on my bike. But when July arrived we hopped on my trusty old Ford Transit-van with my friend Juho Pusa and headed out to Åre - Sweden to enjoy some bike park laps at a world class resort.

Berms were not harmed while shooting this frame! Ok maybe a little.. but we fixed it!

After Åre it was time to head back home to Rovaniemi and help to arrange the Finnish DH Nationals that were held in my home resort.

For living so close to Norway, the trips there are mandatory both during winter and especially summer time. We usually visit the area of Tromsø in Northern Norway where the landscape is really picturesque to say the least and the area has a real wilderness feel to it.

2014 Recap.
It is really easy to find camping places from North Norway. It is basically quite ok to camp pretty much everywhere there if common sense is used.

This one isn´t that big of a deal as a picture, but the thing that makes it special to me was the fact that this was the first test shoot I did with a Sony A7s Fullframe mirrorless camera which confirmed to me the capabilities of mirrorless cameras. Since then I have done all my photography with A7 and A7s cameras. For the type of shooting that I do, there is nothing that can meet its weight, size and especially quality on digital photography.

2014 Recap.

Autumn time in Finnish Lapland is a special season with all the colours on the trees and on the ground.

I even did my first ride with a fatbike last autumn as winter approached. I have to say that I enjoyed the experience which is quite different when compared to the more traditional mountain bikes. Although I would only use one during the winter time or on really wet trails.

2014 Recap.

Thanks to all my riding buddies and all the people I had the pleasure to meet during 2014 season. This years' season starts tomorrow and hopefully it is even better than the one before. Maybe the next post is about the dusty trails of Tenerife!

Great shots from around Tromsø! A couple of questions on locations; I recognize Fugltinden in one of the shots, but the one underneath with the little bridge I don't recognize. Where is that? Skibotn/Sledo? And the one that says "Spot Riku Salo in the picture", where is that?
