Back in July I had the chance to spend a few days riding at Big Sky Resort in Montana. I learned to ride mountain bikes here and spent many winters as well skiing the resort. When the opportunity came around to film here on my Evil Following, I couldn't pass it up. The trail network in Big Sky is expanding quickly, it's really amazing what they've done in a few short years.

Evil The Following.

About my ride: My Evil Following has been my go to trail bike, this bike has proven capable to handle nearly any discipline. With a more slack overall geometry, and the ability to adjust its geometry, you can set it up for hours of pedaling or switch it into an evil gravity fed trail slaying beast.

Earning the steep turns

This bike is so fun to ride and I find myself even exceeding my need for speed at times, but I have to admit, I quite like it. The Evil Following also pedals very efficiently and the bigger wheels combined with the Delta System suspension design feel very smooth and supple over small bumps and helps smooth out the trail in front of me. I would say this bike is made for all day outings or lift access and can handle the burly trails as well if that's the what you're craving. Oh yeah, and did I mention it comes with a water bottle holder?

Big Sky Resort Montana

I never thought I would enjoy riding a 29er because I was intimidated by the bigger wheels. The Following has hands down exceeded all of my expectations and I am thoroughly impressed with its performance. I love my ride! I've come a long way over the years as a rider and I'd like to give a big thanks to all of my sponsors: Deity, Fox, Shimano, Royal Racing, Profile Racing, Continental Tires, Spank, IXS, FiveTen, Evil Bikes and Alleycat Bike Shop.

She rides with an interesting finesse...I couldn't put a finger on it straight away but watching it again, she manages to hit everything without just picking her way round obstacles but yet she still kind of does it delicately - I really like her riding style.

She really did! Who says riding like a girl is a bad thing?
  • 1 0
 ya that was cool
  • 1 0
Sick riding. Love how she hucks a few of the drops, because hey, who wants to break anyway... Big Grin
  • 2 2
Upper body seemingly always in attack position, which is fine and keeps her weighted forward. ..elbows bent and out. Seats way forward/bikes sa is slack but works.
  • 7 2
Everyone seems almost shocked and impressed a girl was behind the bars, but you guys all do realize their are pro female dh riders who can smoke any of you down any trail don't you?
  • 10 0
^ we all realize that, but videos this rad that dont rely on making the girl a sex object are few and far between. shocked, impressed and excited.

Britney's an absolute shredder. Super fun to ride with, will try anything. Bad ass and fun to party with. Fast as fuc*. I can recall a time back in the day in Montana where we were building and sessioning a pretty decently big jump line. We had gotten the first two doubles built. Here's how it went..."Who want's to guinea pig these?"...Silence. Britney "I will, but I forgot my bike shoes... who has the smallest bike shoes?" She was building digging in flip flops that day...Someone: "I have size 10 or 11...that might be the smallest..." Britney: "That'll do" Anyway, she sizes these things up and kills them in size 10/11 mens bike shoes, probably swimming in them. Rest of us "Guess we have to hit 'em now"

@Rubberelli I don't know who that was directed at but speaking for myself here, you'll notice that I didn't actually make any reference to her gender in my comment (besides writing "she"). Whether the rider is male or female, my comment and thus my opinion still doesn't change. I still like her riding style and I still think she has an interesting finesse.....In fact, I don't know where you're getting that attitude from as no one in the above comments seems that shocked or impressed, just because she's female (not in a negative or patronising way anyway). In fact, everyone seems to be simply passing comments on what they liked about some sweet riding....so chill out dude - your comment is just plain unnecessary.

well, if she didn't just slay some legit DH on a short travel 29'r! Impressive riding Britt! There's more than a few lads here that wish they could rip as hard as you just did.. I'm one of them. well done.

I got in my intense carbine 29er with the 36 fox fork in today. I'm going to windham first time Saturday on it. lads, will it be sufficient enough to do some shredding? It's set up for DH, it would be nice if I can get some feedback on what to expect. Thanks!
  • 27 0
Shredding has no boundaries. Neither gender, bike type, nor wheel size can separate the willing from the gnar.
  • 6 2
You will be fine at Windham. The two new trails built by Gravity Logic don't require much suspension. The Citizens' DH is a bit rowdier, but you should be OK as there are chicken lines if needed. World Cup DH...well, it's more about the size of your balls than your bike as there are few chicken options and parts of it are very committing. That's it, four trails. If in doubt talk to anyone on the bike patrol when you get there, especially Ernie.

I have the carbine 29 with a pike, it'll take on just about any trail! i've riden DH on it and its plenty capable. WC DH, not sure but normal people DH yes.
  • 2 1
@pigit77 It'll be pretty nuts on the steeps!
  • 1 0
Thanks guys! I'll still run it down the WC DH to see what it's capable of. Otherwise, thanks guys and take care!

As an ex-professional photographer of Motocross, I still have a lot of friends in the Mx circles (USA & Europe), but it's hard to stay their friend when they take a piss at me that mountainbikers ride goggles with a mtb helmet on.
They call it the Ultimate Goon Style....and they are right !
  • 9 1
as an earthling, I would caution you against taking fashion advice from moto dudes.
  • 2 0
I've had a lot of bikes never did find one that does it all very well so when I got my evil the following I was mmmm lets see about the hype . Well I've not got a bad word to say it really does it all really well . Maybe one little niggle would be the seat tube geo that I find a little to lean back for long climbs but with a 10-42 cassette and a 32 front ring that is soon sorted to pace up steep climbs . Really do love the following and really do think it's going to be a very hard bike to beat . So if your thinking of buying one get out and demo it if you can

A word of advice from my personal experience at Big Sky. Your experience may differ.

They don't always keep up on trail maintenance. It's pretty much a skeleton crew that does everything (lift operations, maintenance, bike shop repairs/rentals..). I've ridden there multiple times and this summer will be my last. The trail called "Elbow" didn't have any type of transition to the service road and on my first time hitting it, went straight into a drainage ditch. Wound up with a grade 3 AC separation in my right shoulder and get surgery next week for a labral tear in my left. I've been unable to ride since July. Not trying to knock Big Sky, but make sure you really inspect the trails on your first run. From what I've seen, Discovery does a great job on their trails - to me, that's worth the extra drive time when I heal up in ~6 - 8 months...

Looks like you slipped some Sypes Canyon into your Big Sky edit Wink
