We've dragged the Flanagan brothers down from the grim North to the... (you'll have to watch to see what they call the south) to hit up some trails.

Soft Down South
Soft Down South
Soft Down South
Soft Down South
Soft Down South

Oh look Sam Flanagan and Steve Coogan riding bicycles.

I think the Welsh might be a little offended being called southerners.

Well we call people from Carlisle southerners! Everywhere is south of somewhere. (except the North Pole, it's obviously not south of anything)

That's true, your southern to me my friend.

Bloody Northerners always giving it the big 'un!

I've never got round to visiting Cwm Carn though, it looks fun. How does it compare to Forest of Dean, Cannock Chase and Grizedale?

Never been to FOD or Grizedale but it kicks the crap out of Cannock. Always had a soft spot of CwmCarn, the new loop is awesome fun!

Grizedale is awesome riding! Some really gnarly bridalways around the forest if you know where to look rather than just sticking to the Marked route.

Been to cwmcarn, forest of dean and Grizedale, Grizedale is shit lol. I agree the new loop which forks off into 2 more runs is really good. Can get both loops done in one day. The DH at cwmcarn (the original one) is still a classic with the end having loads of big jumps.

In Grizedale the way marked stuff is rubbish but the secret trails are gold Smile

Great uplift at CwmCarn (Daryl at CwmDown). You'll get maybe 12 runs down the old DH track about 4 mins each. Pedally up top then classic Welsh rocky DH, then over the road drop into a bike park like section. A great track - a real charge down a mainly rocky track. Haven't ridden the other side of the valley, but am told it's more 'enduro' than DH. FoD tracks are shorter and more natural (muddy, roots etc) but also have a great uplift (15 odd runs in high summer). Combined, they'd make a great weekend trip. Don't know Cannock or Grizedale.

I want to know how the Flanges deal with the fact that we don't put all foodstuffs between two bits of bread like they do 'opp narth'

I really wouldn't call Cwmcarn rocky compared to, say, the blacks at the bottom of bike park wales. That said, Cwmcarn y mynydd downhill is better than any individual BPW track in my opinion (nb not quite a fair comparison as Mynydd has 3x2 different options on the way down).

If only for the comedic value alone, great addition to the Hope factory team. Could of done with bit more shredding footage though.

Shame they didn't take the DH route, is so much fun and I managed it on my hardtail so there is no reason why they didn't try it!
