Kellys 2018 Highlights

Kellys is really thrilled to enter the 2018 season with lots of novelties and updates, not only in the bicycle range but also in the gear and accessories portfolio. The Eurobike 2017 global show was the place of the official Kellys 2018 collection premiere, where many of the new products were shown to the public for the first time.

Kellys - Eurobike 2018

Think Link Suspension System

Undeniably, the most awaited premiere in Kellys 2018 bicycle range was the all-new full suspension platform called Think Link. It’s a unique system of totally independent rear suspension, which ensures no negative influence from drivetrain and brakes, no pedal kickback and constant rear triangle geometry with absolutely no chain growth. Think Link keeps traction at the best possible level and provides a smooth stroke, allowing uninterrupted power transfer from a crank to the rear wheel. It comes down to the fact that the suspension works independently, being active in any situation, utilizing the full potential of the bike and the rider anytime anywhere.

Think Link benefits:
- Fully independent suspension (no drivetrain and brakes influence);
- No pedal kickback;
- Constant rear triangle geometry with no chain growth;
- Super stiff and precise thanks to unique self-locking oversized Think Link Axles;
- Super-short chainstay thanks to unique rocker design (Swag: 419 mm);
- Uninterrupted power transfer from crank to the rear wheel.

All-new Kellys Noid and Swag

This unique design of full-suspension frames introduces a new generation of Kellys progressive mountain bikes, which can go far beyond the riding experience known to the riders so far. The new suspension system has been applied in new 2018 Noid and Swag bikes with 205 and 165 mm of travel accordingly.

bigquotesWhile designing new full-suspension platform we wanted to create a lightweight and extremely stiff frame with super-strong and precise suspension pivots. To achieve our goal we needed to analyse the load occurring while riding aggressively. As a result, our team created the Think Link – the unique design with the truly independent rear end and the most direct load transfer possible. It ensures a smooth ride, high pedal efficiency and handling precision at an unprecedented level.”Roman Bohacik – the Head of Research and Development Department

All-new Noids

The new full-suspension frames of 2018, Noid and Swag utilise not only the Think Link suspension system but also many unique features like Drive Core. It’s a super stiff and lightweight hollow structure around the bottom bracket. Being the heart of new frames it carries all the stresses from drivetrain and suspension ensuring extreme lateral stiffness and top suspension performance without any weight penalty.

Another feature of the new frames is Force Vector Design – the strength-to-weight optimized frame design based on the direct load transfer. Without unnecessary intermediary elements which can cause weight and stiffness penalty, and also performance issues, the frame structure bears the load directly thanks to the lightweight but strong and buckling-resistant tubing. The Noid and Swag bikes also come with Integrated Frame Protection (IPS) and Stealth Cable Routing (SCR) which not only secure the frame from damage but also make the bike super silent. Cable or chain knocking, no more. Moreover, the new Noid features Vario Geometry System exclusively, which allows the rider to precisely tune bike’s geometry according to the needs. The chainstay length, BB height, seat and head tube angles can be adjusted within a couple of minutes.

 Ye, way to totally conflabulate with marketing mumbo jumbo rather than actually explaining how their 'new' linkage design works!

 NDS pics here, plus vague explanation in Czech.

Not a URT, looks like a weird mish mash of few common designs.

 @upchuckyeager: What's old is new again...

 It isn't a URT. Look at their instagram from Sept 17th. you can see the link below the bb. Not sure why you'd want one anyway, but don't start that URT talk, we will have PTSD.

 @upchuckyeager: Just saying, before pinkbike loses its mind over URT.

 I want an ebike that has a pinion internal gearing system, and a magnetized battery the size of an iPhone 4s, that pops on and off when I want pedal assist. Thanks in advance.

 The Swag. I like the little toptube brace. Also the worst name for a bike I think I have ever heard.
  • 1 0
 So that we may see the suspension properly, may we please see a video or photo from the NDS.
  • 1 3
 I hope that '165MM' is not going to be printed on the final bike designs. That's like to those cars that have 'ABS' under the model name, as I'm sure ZERO people have looked at that and said, "Wow, that car has antilock brakes!"

And please, stop with the, "The suspension design looks like..." That's getting clichéd now. You might as well point out how similar it looks to the 2007 Bianchi Virata, BECAUSE IT ALSO HAS TWO WHEELS.

 Yikes, the Noid has like a super short reach. Maybe an optical illusion, but its in the effin beach cruiser category.
  • 1 0
 That was some of the worst garbage marketing bs I've ever read... shame on whoever wrote this

 Looks like a...GT?

 I’d say a banshee

 Looks like K. Knolly.
