They’re poppy, pedal great, light, bomb proof, less maintenance (especially in the winter), feels so great riding them on a flow trail, works well to commute, so versatile, they’re really just fun bikes. Everyone should have one.

True, but who sells more bikes? End of the day they’re all just salespeople. Hopefully this boom in mountain biking leads to more people interested in watching racing and that area grows. But until bike companies can make money just off of racing results/monetize viewership, it all goes back to bike sales and who can sell more bikes.
