Greg Minnaar vs Luca Shaw vs Loris Vergier: 3 Santa Cruz V10s Head to Head
@Ajorda: LIteville and Foes have been doing it 5-10 years before Chris Porter/Geometron, but yeah he knows what he is doing and a big influence on modern bike geometry etc. :-)

Greg Minnaar vs Luca Shaw vs Loris Vergier: 3 Santa Cruz V10s Head to Head
@Hambo24: Yes! It's crazy that so few people know this. I've always said about Mullet/MX bikes that their biggest enemy towards becoming the norm is peoples lack of understanding and unfortunately this thread exemplifies that a little too good. Like people thinking they are harder to ride and only for the pros - WTF? It's the opposite you fools! They are easier to get along with than a full on 29'er no matter what skill level you have. But because people in general are highly ignorant and likely won't buy one because of sheer ignorance and lack of understanding, the bike brands don't really dare to release them to the public yet.

Field Test: 2020 Intense Primer S - Mixed Wheel Corner Carver
@roma258: It's NOT a mullet bike. Mullets have different diameter wheels which has a huge impact on how the ride/handle. This is a shit bike with a plus tire in the back. Pure marketing wank. No wonder it doesn't deliver...

NOT A MULLET BIKE! It's basically a 29'er with a shitty 27.5+ rear tire and outdated geometry. (Too short reach and too slack seat angle etc.) Why: Because 27,5+ has the same circumference and axle height as a 29'er = Not a mullet and as such no advantage from running different sized wheels. On top of that you get shitty handling because its a + tire with added flex and more grip on the rear than on the front. Who in their right mind wants that? Do it right or don't do it at all! Mullets are great when done properly. Don't let this half assed attempt fool you.

@BurningBeard: No one knew asbestos were bad, before we got told so ;-) I personally always felt mountain bikes were way too small and unstable. Could not understand why it shouldn't be possible to make a bike that you feel one with, like many motorcycles instead of on top of like all my old bikes. Was close to getting a custom frame build 5-7 years ago, but the cost vs the possible failure of the project with my limited knowledge kept me from it.

3 Pro Enduro Bike Checks - EWS Madeira 2019
Copying? I (and others) have been riding the reverse mullet/mixed wheels for years now :-) 29"ers take the fun out of riding - reverse mullet puts it right back in! ;-)

Do it! Been rocking similar setups on both 29/27 and 27,5/26. Works great! :-) People are so afraid to think out of the box and experiment. Just look at the other response you got and the number of likes from PB users too afraid to try new stuff...

5 Things We Learned at EWS Tasmania 2019
Anyone of all of you with opinions about frankenbikes ever tried one? That being a 29/27,5 or a 27,5/26 combo? (not the stupid 29/26 combo that was never going to work) What if I told you that they really do work? Mind blown or still in denial? :-p

Nope. You don't want more grip in the rear than on the front.
