Following the exciting announcement of the “new” Santa Cruz Syndicate factory Downhill Mountain Bike team, we catch up with Greg Minnaar to get some insight into the new additions and changes.

This year sees the addition of Jackson Goldstone (Junior), Laurie Greenland (Elite Men) and Nina Hoffmann (Elite Women) to the team, joining the current World Champion Greg Minnaar, and team coach Steve Peat. A solid crew indeed! Another big change to the team is that all riders will be riding for Fox Racing.

A new look, a new team – definitely an exciting year ahead for the Syndicate.

@LWMag: I used to ride with Fox goggles that were made by Oakley. Don't know if they are still doing that or not...that was a lifetime ago.

At first, I was bummed that he didn't say anything about Luca being a contender. But, the riders he mentioned all had better results. Of course, no mention of Reece Wilson. Possibly an oversight. But, I'm still not sure what Reece has to do to be part of the discussion. Reading between the lines, I'd say Luca is better off not on the Syndicate. There's a fine line between "team chemistry" and conformity. Just speculating though, because I'm a fan of all involved and only know what's been put out there.

Oakley Prizm goggles are so much better than any other goggles on the market. I would not be stoked to switch off them. Being able to see well is so important!

Maybe part of the Shaw move, he has been with TLD since pre teen.

Luca didn't decided to move. Santa wanted another top rider to replace Vergier. Greenland it is.

Makes sense drop a top rider to gain a top rider? @kerosen1:

@supercruizer1: Even if Luca is a top notch rider, they wanted a more "able to win" and podium consistent one.
