The day starts with a women's skills clinic where ladies ages 11 and up will join together to get to know the lay of the land and learn proper riding techniques to handle bike park fun. Following the ladies' skills morning there is a pumptrack jam just for little kids ages 10 and under.

There is a cross-country loop, multiple pump tracks, progressive jump lines, a slalom course, a bmx track and a successional drop zone. "Bike parks are a great place to learn skills because it's a controlled environment where people can practice the same thing over and over with measurable, attainable goals and results," says Lindsey Richter (formerly Voreis), skills coach for the Little Big. "I was terrified to ride a bike park when I first saw one, but once I learned how important it was for honing in on key skills that translate to the trail, I fell in love and can't get enough! This event is meant to ease people into bike park riding by progressing them at a pace that suits their riding level."

With bike parks popping up all over the world, now is the time to hone in on your skills and get to know what these great parks are all about. The name of the event speaks to what you'll find at the bike park. There are little kids and big kids riding the little jumps and big jumps making little progressions and big progressions. This is what biking is all about and the Little Big wants to bring everyone together to progress their riding in a way that's best for them.

Event Director and Truckee Bike Park co-founder, Cortney Knudson says, "I know so many women feel fearful of bike parks and I wanted to create an event to bring them together to experience what a bike park is like without them worrying about riders getting in their way while they're learning the park. The park is closed during the clinic so women can get comfortable with the layout and terrain amongst their peers. We take our time looking at lines and understanding how to move the bike through them. This is an intimate way to familiarize yourself with our terrain and get you ready to be a stronger more confident rider on the trails."

After an awesome morning progressing skills, the park will open up for the afternoon activities. There is a jump competition for women and one for men where amateurs and pros can show off their style and skills. The competition is a casual jump jam format and prizes will be given for style and effort. When the jump jam is complete, fans can turn their attention to some fast-paced fun on the dual slalom track. With categories for men and women, riders will face off side by side to ride the zippy slalom course as fast as they can. It's sure to be another exciting day in Truckee so don't miss out on the fun.

I've always wanted something like this near the LA area. It's BS to dig trails and create features only to have the city tear it down.

This looks like a great event! But with the winter Tahoe's had Truckee may still be under snow on May 27th
