Athertons Attack at 2013 British National Championships

The 2013 British National Championships by Borderline Events took place in Llangynog, North Wales, this weekend, and what a weekend of racing! Two amazing days of weather in the Welsh valley saw the Athertons once again take the double win, with both Gee and Rachel retaining their National coloured jerseys and continuing their dominating winning streak.

 Everyone hating on the GT's, it does have to do something with the new bikes, they weren't winning double wins multiple times with the older bikes and not even on their previous sponsors, hell even pinkbike liked the new fury

 Yup everyone hates on Gt bikes. Yet they are they are and always have been cutting edge tech. Even my old 2006 idrive climbs and better on rooty single track than any other bikes i have rented. Outside the box they are are..

 The Athertons have been winning races for years, on various different bikes; Giant, Commencal and now GT. I don't think the fact that they have been super consistent this year is because of the bike they are on its because they are, and always have been consistently at the top of their game with the odd setback here and there. Even when Gee wasn't winning he was easily one of the most consistent riders, rarely off of a podium spot for at least 5 years now, same for Rach. Of course the GT bikes are really good and hopefully their popularity will increase in light of the Athertons' successes this year. It's just a crap argument that takes away from the hard work of the riders when someone says they are winning 'cos they have better bikes I think. One love

 Sadness, GTs should be at the top of way more lists. I put away several way more expensive bikes when I pedalled a force. I'm never owning a XC or AM bike without I-Drive again.

 Yes, it can still be correct without the apostrophe. Owls attack mice. The owl's attack caught four mice. Athertons attack the race track. The Atherton's attack won them both medals.

I guess though we're splitting hairs over what us Americanese and English language. :p

 You can't have plural and possessive together, you have to rephrase the sentence if you want that; "Athertons' " is just completely wrong and "Atherton's" is incorrect for the title statement, what's written in the title is correct - "Athertons" = Plural, as they both won.

If you wanted to indicate possessive also, it would be "Atherton's attacks".
