15th of January 2017 is a day that Simon Noble will always remember. While riding the 'Hero' trail in Bright, Simon suffered a horrific crash that saw him fracture his collar bone, fracture and dislocate his hip, fracture his T12 vertebrae and puncture his lung.
Simon lay on the track for nearly 3 hours, waiting for paramedics that were attending to him, trying to figure out what exactly was wrong. His mates stood by his side the entire time, holding up a mattress to keep the extremely hot Australian sun off him.
Even though Simon was faced with great adversity, he wasn't accepting defeat and instead turned it into motivation to not only get back on the bike, but be stronger and faster than ever before.
Seeing sunshine is such a massive step forward in a long road ahead.
This collar bone has certainly seen better days.
A hip which will now make airport security wonder what's going on.
After spending numerous days in different hospitals, Simon could eventually begin his recovery process. A slow and at some times depressing road, bike movies and the idea of getting to ride with his mates again, continued to drive him. Twelve long weeks past and the rehabilitation started to enable Simon to get back on a trainer and then the doctor gave him the green light to get back on the bike.
