PRESS RELEASES: Leadville Race SeriesWe've heard rumors that there are at least a few XCers lurking in the Pinkbike shadows. The Leadville Race Series is here for you and wanted to drop by with a few small but important changes coming in 2019 aimed at improving both the rider and fan experience.
The biggest and most noteworthy is the change to wave starts for the 2019 edition of the
Stages Cycling Leadville Trail 100 MTB race. Four waves, starting four minutes apart should help alleviate congestion, both literally and figuratively, as riders head off the starting line and into St. Kevins.
Race in the front, party in the back: the expo is doubling in size and moving over to 6th street where the festivities can spread out to include live music, seating and vendors.
And finally,
The Stages Cycling Silver Rush 50 MTB, an LT100 qualifier designed to be the more laid back cousin to the main event, will also see some changes in 2019.
Registration is still open and includes several new options for this year: a 15 mile distance, a relay option and a family-friendly 2.5 mile run / 2.5 mile MTB Duathlon on Saturday. Weekend camping spots at Silver Rush are also now available with proceeds benefiting local charities. Leadville curious? Silver Rush is great place to start.
