Video: The Kona Team Bikepacks to & from the Whiskey Off Road
Patrick Means I have been there. I could barely read through it even (got sweaty palms, tightness in my chest, and had to stop a couple times). Glad it turned out okay and you had good people with you. Awesome article and amazing images. Makes me feel a little less crazy for being so devoted to hike a bikes out in the wild. I think I'm going to go drink a gallon of water now, and maybe buy a siphon/filtration device. And then roll around in 500lbs of ice. While I eat a couple of those gnarly gas station pickles. Maybe go hug a waterfall or two. Should be good.

Spotted: Is This the New Shimano XTR?
@TheRaven: Thank you. I use Sram derailleurs. I love X-horizon but it does stick out sooooo far. It's never been a real problem, but it still worries me. Hopefully any new gravity line from Shimano deals with the reliability issues I've experienced with zee and saint derailleurs. Really just using a version of x horizon would do it. When they work they're amazing but they have a tendency to fail catastrophically without even being polite enough to wait until they smash into a rock into do so. That and a ten tooth cog? Pretty sweet.

@Boardlife69: if only the rest of us could learn such restraint. Then pinkbike would be a better place.

@rivercitycycles: I think it helps to show we can end up in conflict that doesn't represent how we feel about each other as human beings. Personally I think it's great they pointed it out, to show that after all that he has experienced mountain biking is providing a way for him to help people come together in a peaceful and cooperative community.

It's amazing. Also reassuring. I'm never worrying about a stress riser on my frame ever again. Really though, just super unique and way too fast looking. I love it.

They're still around. There's a 2018 model. Needless to say they have evolved, maybe not for the best. But at least they're still around!!!!

Exotic Brakes and a Single-Crown, Single-Sided Fork - Albstadt World Cup XC
@nuttypoolog: It has an internal name? Yikes. As far as I can tell it's because the seals on the calipers are not the proper (same as they used to be) durometer and barely undersized. Smarter people than me pointed out that possibility btw, it's just the one that makes sense to me.
