My daughter asked me the other day if riding bikes was more a guys thing, I told her that riding bikes is just a human thing, now I will have to show her this video.

Show her some Joey Gough videos buddy, one of the best underrated female riders out there. Unbelievable talent, especially when you realise she works full time and isn’t in her teens anymore

Yet we still have to label women’s edits with things like “ladies only!”. I think everyone will figure that out when they watch the edit and then rippin. No need for separation language

@hi-dr-nick: when you want to highlight something, you first recognize it and explicitly call it out. Same reason we literally have "labels" (aka tags) and don't title every post on PB as "Cycling Video"

@FastDHR: you're missing the point, there's nothing "wrong" with it. Do you see men's edits labeled "men only!"? Separation language is what creates the difference in the first place. It should just be labeled as an edit with rippin riders and if they so happen to be all female then great. There is also the unfortunate reality that ladies edits just like most sports, etc. will always get less views, so why even pigeonholed them into a category that won't help them grow? I'd rather have clicked on this thinking it's just another edit to watch and then when I realize it's all ladies that'll shredding I'd be even more stoked.

Such a dumb argument. You don't see that because it's 99.9% of videos out there.

All you're saying is that a segment of the population that you don't represent doesn't have the right to search for something based on the criteria of their choosing, which in this case happens to be the gender of the athletes.

Is it hard to believe that there might be a 12 year old girl out there who's just getting into mountain biking that wants to watch and admire female rippers because she relates to them more than male riders?

One think I spotted straight away is how smooth and relaxed these girls ride. I think guys can take a lot from this. I know all too often I will try and muscle through things and its only when I relax, plan ahead and be at one with the bike that my riding really comes alive and often I ride faster. With a little girl currently cooking and hopefully here in June, I hope she follows after me into the amazing world of extreme sports. We will defiantly be skiing, and I already bought her a little Specialized balance bike for £20. Well done ladies! Some amazing skills and style going on.
