As things go, I found myself on an unexpected journey to the west coast for the FMBA Judging Clinic in Whistler and coincidentally the opening weekend for the Whistler Mountain Bike Park on the May long weekend with BC/DC playing the GLC, lift pass and a loaner.
Pinch someone, I'm dreaming.
First stop, Squamish. What do you do to stretch your legs after a long flight? Speed hike the Chief, what else? Embarrassed to say it was my first time up the trail to the First Peak. Give yourself a good hour for the round trip.
It was like a "Stairway to Heaven"... I haven't been in BC for almost a year and a half and was welcomed back with this legendary hike.
You never know who your going to meet on the trails in Squamish...if it's anyone it's probably this guy. Said he was"heli trail building".... Throwback Thursdays with Big Red Ted!
Getting artsy with my point and shoot... still trying to figure it out....back lit waterfall.
My favourite of the day.
A little sweat and you're rewarded with some spectacular views.
Why does everywhere in BC look so dog gone amazing? Because it is.
You really never know who you are going to meet on the trails in Squamish...Lucy May.
I was fortunate to hit the trails with this guy. We switched things up and I tried my hand a making this guy look good. Old mountain bike film makers never die, they just move to Squamish and shred trails.
Christian Begin Interview at the Living Room.
The next morning it was video judging with FMBA educator Paul Rak.
Consistency is key, looks like we were doing pretty good.

"Clinic was another success, veteran judges along with a few new ones created a great mix of knowledge and conversation. I'm excited for this season which has already been amazing to watch." Paul Rak
Heard I should try this place out.
I like the price...
This guy told me a story about a dragon...
Then he took me home to meet him.
