MBWales.com is the fresh face of mountain biking in Wales. Over the last three months, MBWales has undergone a complete rebrand with a new logo and an impressive new website with all the information you need to plan your next adventure in Wales.

Making of Destination Wales. The new film for MBWales.com

To launch the website we asked Chris Davies and his team at Eastwood Media to make us a film showing what it looks like to ride in Wales.

Filmed over the last few months at the trail centres and natural trails, Chris followed a number of adventures, from Bike Packing in the Brecon Beacons, Downhill at Antur Stiniog, a family adventure at Coed y Brenin and even a trail dog at Cwm Rhaeadr!

There will be longer versions of each adventure coming out over the next few weeks but for now, here’s Wales; Destination Wales: Cyrchfan Cymru. The whole film is produced in glorious 4k ultra-high-definition to really show off Wales in detail, you can watch the 4K version on YouTube.

This project has been funded by Welsh Government through Visit Wales’ Tourism Product Innovation Fund. The project was managed by Denbighshire County Council on behalf of the MBWales Marketing and Development Group. Chris Davies and Eastwood Media have permission for Aerial Work from the Civil Aviation Authority (PFAW #1020) and have the necessary insurance and landowners permissions to fly drones at all of the locations used in the film.

Brechfa really is pretty isolated but doesn't disappoint. Double black at Antur stiniog in the snow? no thanks!! Tons missing off here what about Afan? Cymcarn? Climachx at Machynlleth? etc etc and what about the DH?! So much good stuff, love Wales :-)

Fortunate to live half way between Brechfa and Afan. I also think Brechfa gets over looked because its a little bit further out than Afan and there are no facilities there (DO NOT go in that port-a-loo ha ha). If your coming to Wales on a trip and you make it as far as Afan, Brechfa is well worth the extra effort. Beware red run starts in different car park to black and blue.

As for cwm rhaeadr - just check out the second pic - its a minimum two laps and probably 3 if your coming from far. A hidden gem and scenery to make you stop and just take it all in.

Doesn't matter. Most of us won't go because we can't pronounce any of the names to ask for directions. . . Wink

Fantastic to see the re-brand and new website. I always thought the previous one was a bit dated. Really happy to see Wales getting the recognition it deserves as probably one of the best countries to ride due to the selection of trails/bikeparks/natual rides available. Can't believe I moved from there to Leicester Frown .

Been to Coed-Y-Brenin and Llandegla, and it is just amazing. The trails, the people, the landscape... I'm missing it terrible since leaving the UK Frown

I lived in Bethesda back in '93 while doing a 4-month placement at Bangor uni. I used to ride all around the Ogwen Valley, Capel Curig, Betws-Y-Coed on my Marin Palisades Trail. Amazing area, great to see this progress more than 20 years later.

I was lucky enough to get three days of amazing riding in Wales last week, rode Snowdon, Penmachno, Antur Stiniog, Coed Y Brenin. It's a got something for everyone and great cake too. Couple of short edits of Snowdon in the sunshine and Antur in my profile

Moved to a sunnier climate a few years back, but I still miss having Wales as my biking backyard...it rocks!

im pretty lucky to have my home village just under the number 4 so i have a good selection and also up here now in Yorkshire! happy days! but agreed with the comment regarding Climax not in there and also Wales offer sooooo much natural riding. I live at the base of a mountain called Cader Idris and if your passing its well worth a ride up. think of it as a mini Snowdon.

Off to Snowdon again next Friday for a long weekend of riding with a few friends, Coed y brenin for the first time too. Can't wait!! Revs and Antur are great places for the DH!

been to antur a few times and coed y brenin and penmachno several times....ridden the marin trail once and will not bother with that again. the last 1.5 ish miles is awesome but the rest is (imho) really boring. Penmachno is amazing and this vid doesnt do it justice. antur is awesome too but i can see myself having a bad crash there if im not paying full attention and the temptation is to ride outside my limit and ive never seen so many nasty looking rocks everywhere but yep had great fun there. coed y brenin has an ace cafe and nice trails too. hopefully going back in may to do more. if your up for a challenge try penmachno around winter time with - temps fallen trees you have to climb over and enough water to feel your cycling upstream in places.....was fun but i had breathed in so much cold air i felt terrible for the next week and everything made me feel like i was out of breath lol.

Agree about Marin trail being a bit mundane, Penmachno flows way better an is literally only a few miles away.
  • 3 1
I like the Marin, if your fitness is at a pretty decent level you can razz it everywhere! Very scenic too! Different strokes for different blokes though I guess!

Riding in Wales always makes me happy to be alive ! Doing Snowdon this April and Penmachno, can't wait
