Never call Last Run, unless it's the Last Run Down at Mountain Creek Bike Park. Nearly 300 bikers participated in the ceremonial last run of the season at the New Jersey resort this past Sunday. Here's a rider's eye view of the mayhem that ensued. A downhill equivalent of navigating the New Jersey Turnpike at rush hour.
That was me, Sharky, and Ant Knee. We made it half way down before front rim folded from too much front braking. Ant Knee attached his kids trailer bike to our friend James DH bike to continue on down. While sharky and I placed the rim on a large rock and jumped on it to get it back in shape. We got it back in some what rideable shape and rode on down till the last 100ft before the wheel folded again and snapped. It was great!
I have some good video of that on my FB page ... another reason to show how nuts this is, when they crashed they almost got ran over by a beach cruiser ????
Pretty sure lift access mountain biking originated on the east coast of the US at Mt. Snow but correct me if I'm wrong. But if that's the case Whistler is just another copy cat mountain.
As an American, I'd like to take this opportunity to apologize to the rest of the world for the music. I'm sorry you all have been subjected to that bile for the past several decades... Carry on....
