Video: Will Instability Training Make You A Better Rider?

Instability training, also known as training on unstable surfaces is a theme that seems to constantly crop up on the social media of a wide range of MTB athletes across all disciplines. As a result, it is also something I see a lot of on the feeds of every day riders who are working hard to improve their strength, fitness and possibly balance, with the purpose of being a better rider.

The question is....... "Will It Make You A Better Rider?"

In this video I give you my opinion on the matter. It is based on my years of coaching a wide range of riders from amateur to pro as well as a decent grounding in the sports science.

As I say in the video, there are no absolutes. For some riders, some of the time, there may be a case for it, but on the whole I believe your valuable training time and effort would be best directed elsewhere.

P.S. I know that Kate Courtney and Nino both have Rainbow stripes and they do unstable training.

P.P.S. See you in the comments section! haha
