Girlz Gone Riding s Rocktober Festival Celebrates 6-year Anniversary This October

Lake Castaic Recreation Area, California – October 30, 2016.

Girlz Gone Riding’s signature day-long Rocktober festival will be its sixth annual celebration of women in mountain biking and will draw over 300 attendees of all skill levels this year. It will run from 7:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the beautiful Lake Castaic Recreation area.

Debuting in 2011 at Malibu Creek State Park, the event features skills clinics with well-known female coaches such as Leigh Donovan, guided rides for all levels, raffles, a bike-demo area featuring 8 different brands, a swap meet, guest speakers and many exhibitors. GGR partners with the Concerned Off-road Bicyclists Association, the local IMBA chapter. Rocktober also features a CORBA membership drive.

GGR’s Rocktober creates a positive atmosphere of fun and adventure. REI is the premier sponsor this year and is donating a mountain bike to the raffle as well as funds to both CORBA and GGR in addition to providing bikes to demo.

Other manufacturers providing demo bikes include; Giants’ Liv Brand, Specialized, Bulls Bikes, Kona, Orbea, Scott, Trek, and Turner.

The event is entirely free to participants. Rocktober’s other featured sponsor for 2016 is RST Suspension. The company will pay the $11 park entry fee for the first 100 vehicles arriving at this year’s festival.

Early packet pick-up will be held at REI Woodland Hills on October 29 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. The event is well-known for its quality goodie bags, which contain samples and gifts from all sponsors.  Wendy and the girls of GGR are awesome. My wife has gone on a few rides with them, and i have tagged along on some of the co-ed rides they put on. It's always a good time. I love the fact they are building a solid community of female riders, we need more of them!

Don't get me wrong, Ozzy has my respect. But I think based on this article's content, Motley Crue's "GIrls, Girls, Girls" would have been a more solid choice.
