@streetfighter848: this probably does not matter in this case, if he has a contract with cdale which says he can only be seen in the wild riding cdales this does not automatically mean he can be seen riding other brands owned by the same parent company.
What ever happened to proper bike checks on this website? Seems like they used to be a staple here (and elsewhere) a few years ago at all the big events but you rarely see them anymore. I assume they have looked at the numbers and the page views do not match the effort required to put it together, but they are always my favorite. A bunch of photos showing all of the cool details that goes into the pros bikes is super cool IMHO.
Water bottles on DH bikes makes perfect sense, if it can fit why not have one on? I’ve taken my trail bike instead for a days lapping before just because of that.
@BamaBiscuits: weren’t they riding the new Jekylls with dual crowns before it was released? Maybe with a different link or something. Interesting they didn’t choose that for hardline
@B3NBiker: I would think that throwing a dual crown on a non DH bike might not be the best idea at an event like hardline. I’m sure it’s a perfectly capable bike under most circumstances, but hardline is on another level.
They probably tested the frames and observed them to actually not be nukeproof. Brayton's is the second try. If it survives this year's Hardline, they can officially declare it nukeproof at last.
That YT might be my favorite shape of this bunch. Next would be the Scott. I wouldn't have thought that, but these brands are making a nice looking bike. Simpler lines, less complex suspensions. In the complex suspension group I think the Specialized demo looks good. Airy layout of suspension parts, not too bunchy. The Nukeproof lines are also quite beautiful; the broken straight lines of the downtube is a cool differentiator among the strait vs. curved options out there.
Sick??? At what point in life did the common word for vomit become a 'cool' word to use to describe something you like...... "Sickk duuuuuude!!". It's almost as bad as the word 'Rad' but that is an exclusive word used by the Athertons while riding bikes held together with Pritt Stick.
@MattP76: If your profile is accurate, it's basically been in use your entire life as slang. It became popular in the 80's. It's honestly shocking this is the first time you've come across this, or at least it seems to be the first time based on your incredibly overly dramatic response.
I can only imagine that your head would explode into a poof of confetti if you saw some of the other slang words that existed even before that.
@Wesley-Swipes: Well I can assure you it didn't become popular in the 80s. Not here. I suppose it's typical American garbage.... Sick duuudddee.. Or something moronic like that.
The Mondraker Summum is just an aesthetically pleasing bike. Also, I know they ride great, but the rear triangle and linkage on the Demo always looks awkward to me.
2010 called, they want their Saint back. It has zero Eaglez and no HyperGlideSuperPlus. I can't even begin to imagine how they can ride such an ancient contraption.
Saying a quick prayer for the Nukeproof rims on joe smiths bike, after watching all the destroyed wheels from reputable rim brands I’ll be shocked if those POS last one run. I’m
funny you should say that, NP's rims are rebranded "wheels from reputable rim brands". not sure what they are now (I've read novatechs?) but, first they where Sun Ringle' MTX then WTB i25. I've got a DH front from like 2010 (MTX) still going, a NP WTB rim still going strong an a pair of they're current wheels on my trail bike. They as good as it gets for an affordable alloy rim.
@naptime: yes, the DT Swiss FR560 (rear) and EX511 (front) I replaced it with has been flawless and has lasted about 10x longer, surviving a whole race season. Meanwhile the horizon (both front and rear) failed after less than 10 rides with inserts and double down casing on both ends
@TannerValhouli: Soz, I should have said any other cheap alloy rim. How much more does the DT cost over there compared to NP? Here DT are as pricey as it gets without going fantastic plastic, NP are cheap as chips. Im not denying the strength of DT at all an I'm pretty sure NP are rebranded novatechs?
@dylanpoulsen: in fact he mentions in his qualifying vlog that the martini bike got a slight crack in the downtube/swingarm area, prob. fine but they don't want to risk anything.
Vitus has been transitioning from catalogue to in-house frame designs for a couple of years now, but a new Dominer is probably behind a new Mythique in the schedule.
But what is it?
Ridiculous

Des goûts et des couleurs, on ne discute pas.
