Like David Hasselhoff, Mario Lenzen is really big in Germany. But unlike the "Hoff's" golden voice and manly mane of chest hair, Mario's fame comes from being able to ride a bike like nobody's business. As for all pro riders that come to ride the infamous trails of Vancouver's North Shore, I like to throw them head first into the gnar. This is a photomentary of what went down during my two days with Mario...
On day one we were lucky enough to be invited to Ryan Berrecloth's "Heat Score" line to session it with Ryan and Geoff Gulevich. Considering it was the first time Mario had touched his tires to Shore dirt, I'd say he held his own.
On day two the plan was to warm up on Bobsled (the Shore's version of a bike park trail), then head on up to the W&%k, which is arguably the steepest and sketchiest trail on the Shore. On any given day if you ride the Shore, you will likely come across at least one of these classic Shore features: waterfalls, snow, and rusted metal.

I think Mario approved.
Dropping in to The W&%K. Steep, sustained, natural, do-not-crash-at-all-costs, classic Shore. And yes Mario, I will need you to do it one more time.
You got that right.
We made it out alive. Thanks Mario for the pose down, and thank you North Shore for sticking to your roots.
