Yannik Granieri. Heading up for one last practice run.
Messere and Semenuk.
With the competition just minutes away the vibe was all business.
Even Pilgrim wasn't smiling.
"Hey Dad, can I borrow a hundred K to go shoot this years' Slopestyle?...Sure son, wallet's on the kitchen table." Can't tell you how many kids had one of these propped on their shoulders.
Geoff Gullevich consoling Casey Groves after hearing about probably the worst news you could hear. Our hearts are all with you and your family Casey...keep on given'r bro.
With just minutes to go...last second entry Tyler McCaul had to frantically fix a flat before being first one down the course. I'd be sweating too.
That didn't stop him from stomping a huge tailwhip to open the Slopestyle.
Sam Dueck.
I love how the sign is made with the packaging from a two-four of beer.
Brett Rheeder...this guy got really good, really fast.
Yannik Granieri...yea it's out of focus, but who gives a shit.
Gully...looking solid all the way down...
...but just missing out on placing top six.
Anthony Messere...you front-flipping, crazy-ass mo' fo'.
Semenuk's style starts where other's stops.
Tyler McCaul...looking pretty relaxed for riding off the couch.
The wind was playing havoc on a lot of riders. Tippie...feeling their pain.
The crowds were feeling their pain too...
The photogs were just hoping someone makes it all the way down the course.
Messere...giving the people what they needed, even after crashing higher up on this run. That's Pro.
Casey Groves...sixth place. Under the circumstances he was riding with, he takes the cake as most inspirational rider.
Martin Soderstrom...solid all the way through...
...until this last ditch double whip attempt off the shack.
Probably cost him the win.
Thomas Genon.
Holding it down for the win.
Yea budday!
Soderstrom...stoked with second.
Cam is back!...Third place.
That's all folks!...
Time to party.
And if you missed Pinkbike's video from the event...
Yeah, Thomas absolutely bombed himself on the top of the podium from out of nowhere. BUT, Cam is a legend, he's in this sport for something like 8-9 years or so? Let's be honest, age is a major factor in this sport, especially when almost all of his competition is much younger than him. Also he's been out for a while now with an injury, and this is a blistering comeback from him!
I think that crankworx was epic and joyride course was amazing but i was actually a little disappointed with the contest itself a lot of people crashed out and i wish i could of saw more full runs.
They really need to stop holding comps in the wind. I know it's not a possibility most of the time, but a lot of the events this year haven't been 100% due to wind.
Great coverage of Joyride, was stoked I could watch it live.... Results were great, am sure none of us would have predicted the places in the end....
A ripping great course....
