North Vancouver BC - Part 3

The first thing I did when I moved to BC, was visit Seylynn skate park. The second thing I did was go get some band-aids.

Apart from the mecca that is the three mountains known as "The Shore", North Vancouver is also home to four solid skateparks, and a couple of sick dirt jump zones.

Part three inside,
photo
Seylynn skate park...a great place to get hammered and ride bikes. Or maybe it'd be better to do it the other way around.

photo
Jay Hoots, checking for broken glass in the landing zone.

photo
Dylan Korba, just getting warmed up.
photo

photo
You can take the mountain out of the bike, but you can't take the BMX out of Dylan Korba.
Backflip to flat asphalt, like five times. All he needs to do is lose the helmet, and he's back in
the BMX biz.

photo
Korba and Hoots. Wishing this bowl was a ball.

photo
photo
Thanks for taking me to the other side Dylan and Jay. Think I'll stick to the trails...they're softer.

photo
On any given day, there will be rain, sun, cloud, wind, snow, rain and more rain. Yawn, so predictable.

Much of the new bridgework is eco-driven.

...and built to last. Matt Juhasz of North Shore Bike Shop testing the goods.

photo
Cypress Mountain is slowly being eaten up by hungry yuppies. Mmmmm, trees and trails taste better with money.
photo
Tasty.
photo
Tastier.

photo
Alan Crisp, lighting it up on Cypress.

photo
On any given weekend the scene at the base of Cypress is big bikes, big trucks, and big balls.

photo
Soon, if Cypress ever loses all that snow they had this winter, it will open up Vancouver's first and only mountain bike park. Whistler's so stoked on this.

photo

photo
Wade Simmons, gobbling up a little something on Digger's menu.
photo
Mmmm, maybe a little tight on the landing, but she's still tasty.

photo

photo
PJ Hunton, warping wheels and minds, as Norco's new design engineer.

photo
Ross Measures through the eye of the needle.

photo
Ryan Berrecloth and Ross Measures...just another Sunday ripping around, loving life, and getting paid for it.

6...yup. Frame rate check all good. That's almost seven frames a second.

photo
Faster damn it.

photo
Sorry, missed it. Can you do it again?

photo
That's better. Let's have it one more time though.

photo
Great. Now let's get another shot over here.

photo
Just hike up another two hundred feet.

photo
Sweet. That's the spot.

photo
Nice. That's a rap. See you guys at the bottom.

seylynn skate bowl is the oldest skate bowl in Canada. It's actively maintained by the users and also by parks. There's a lot of community buy-in. North Van is a great place to live and the pictures show it

Trail isn't finished. Please don't ride it. We did a photo shoot on an incomplete trail and had utmost respect for the builder's work in progress. Thanks to Rob for his wonderful work on this line! It will be amazing when finished!
