Press Release: Marin

The Hawk Hill is our most playful trail bike, made for the rider that catches a bit of air off every root in the trail, is always looking for an alternate line, and ends every ride with a smile. This is an all-around bike with trail performance far outstretching the asking price.

Key updates see the Hawk Hill 3 gaining Maxxis tires, while the Hawk Hill 2 has been upgraded to Shimano’s new Deore 12-speed drivetrain, and the Hawk Hill 1 stepping up to an 11 speed Deore drivetrain and adding tubeless ready tires, all while maintaining pricing remarkably similar to the 2020s.

Rider Evan Mercure showed us some of his favorite trails near Arcata, CA, where he is studying for a forestry degree. Located in the upper reaches of coastal California, Humboldt County is renowned for large expanses of redwood forests, and is a perfect setting for him to show us some of his favorite local spots.

I would like to tell you something about this guy Evan Mercure. He is very good and pleasant person! I was planing to buy Marin Alpine trail before all this Corona thing started, and during my research all over the internet about that bike i found video where he is riding that bike, and riding it like crazy. I ask him few question about bike and sizing, and he help me very professionally and quickly. He also mentioned if I have any more question to feel free to ask him, which in today's time is rarity. I dont know is he riding for Marin or not, but he is good guy. All the best and happy riding Evan!

As a Bay Area native, I'd love for Marin to be as successful as their neighbors at Santa Cruz, Ibis and Specialized - Somehow I feel a lot of their R&D goes to their bread and butter budget bikes that sell for under $1k. Their is definitely opportunity to slim up their offerings and offer quality performance models.

I just picked up an HH3 2021 for my son and we tore up my local DH, XC, SS park today. Needless to say, I found myself riding the HH3 more than my Specialized that my son happily rode (don't get me wrong I love my Specialized). Without a doubt, MARIN deserves far more credit than they're getting. I've ridden Specialized Enduro's, Norco Range's, to Ibis Ripmo's and this bike flew over trails like water, it sprung out of jumps with ease, and every drop felt like butter. The reason this company deserves far more credit is that the quality and geo you get with this bike compares and challenges the upper echelon of MTB's in the 5k to 6k range.

Well done MARIN. If this bike holds up to the rigor and abuse it's going to get over the next year I will admit, you've got a new believer.

I just got a 2019 Hawk Hill Jr for my kid and DAMN! I was so impressed by the overall quality of the bike especially for the price. Marin really deserve more credit than they get IMHO. Their bikes have great progressive geo, good build spec and great pricing.

Arcata, CA. Right up the hill behind Humboldt State University. Don't go off trail however. Trust me, stay on the designated trails. People go missing all the time up there.
