Riding a bike is fun, and having fun on the trail was at the front of our minds when creating the Hawk Hill. Built around our MultiTrac suspension system and lightweight 27.5” wheels, the Hawk Hill is our most playful and fun suspension trail bike to date.
With that in mind EWS up and comer Matt Koen was desperate to get his hands on the new Hawk Hill 3 and rip his local trails on it.
I find it interesting. He's rocking a SR Suntour Auron when the bike comes specced with a Rockshox. No complaint, I love the Auron PCS RC2 as I have one on my Diamondback Release, but seems odd to have a advertisement video with a different build bike.
@MarinBikes: I am a fan of Marin Bikes and history behind the company, no doubt. But, are you trying to tell me that this video was not posted here to sell the Hawk Hill 3. If that's so, you got me. You got me good.
That field looks like the worst way to lose all your elevation. In fact, I did the exact thing two weeks ago and it sucked.
I went to an XC trail in PA that I had never been to before. Rode for a couple hours, all the while running into every other person there going in the opposite direction. And for good reason, because after climbing I got to ride down a wet field back to the car. Such a waste. I asked a guy when he got back to his car if I did it wrong. He just said, "yeah, more fun the other way."
So much shade in these woods... Have you ever been to northern California, i.e. Marin County? That is the terrain, rolling hills with trees here and there. Not to mention the "rolling down a grass hill" part was only the first half of a 2 minute video...
They increased the travel of the front fork from 120 to 130 and it now has a 150mm dropper. Along with it now has fox evol performance shock now. The new color scheme is also sick.
'19 Hawk Hills are on the water now and should hit our US warehouses in the next couple weeks, followed by retail availably. The Alpine Trails are a little bit behind, looking at November. Cheers.

Oh, and if you ever make it to Sea Otter, you may see some of the Marin crew rolling around the pits on a faded '91 Bear Valley SE.
