Got an old helmet lying around?
This blog shows you how to create a sweet-ass blackboard helmet to capture you and your buddies' thoughts and feelings while you ride!First off; you'll need an old helmet, or one that you don't mind spraying black.
You will also need:
Glue
Chalk
'Matt' Black
Chalk holder
Some cardboard or newspaper
First thing to do is to clean your helmet, wash it down with some water, and peel off the stickers.
Then use your Matt Black (Matt finish is slightly coarse and gives a good surface for the chalk) Spray outside and from around 20-25cm. Try not to make the paint too thick as this will make the paint run. Tuck the straps in so that you only paint the outer shell. Here we are using cardboard to stop the paint going on the floor and making the parents angry, you should do the same!
OK! you sprayed your lid black. sweet. now you will need to wait around 15-20 minutes for the paint to be fully dry. Next step is to add your chalk holder.
Here we are using an old helmet camera mount, but you could hollow out a pen, use some fabric, or cut up a pair of Barbie's trousers.
Remember when using superglue not to get it on your hands, and remember not to be directly over it when it is open, this stuff was invented to seal wounds on the battlefield, and it will stick your fingers or eyelids together in seconds.
Once that has dried just add your chalk.
Now when you go for a ride you can get your buddies to draw on your helmet words that describe your adventures, or perhaps just draw a big penis; either way its sure to be a laugh!
If you want to erase the drawings simply rub them off with a cloth and some water and you are ready to go again.
Have fun!
