Carbon vs Aluminum: Separating Environmental Fact From Fiction in the Frame Materials Debate
Lets also be clear about carbon fibre. This stuff was invented in the 1800's and refined into a so called "wonder meterial" in the 1960s. It is not new and is as common as tracksuit on a council estate. I staggers me that people still accept the stupid prices for this stuff. Unbelievably people still think its the latest tech in mountain biking but it just isnt, so stop it! I was riding a carbon DH bike 22 years ago....oh and it snapped by the way. It is complete total crap that carbon costs more than metal to produce. Refuse to pay the over inflated prices and guess what...the prices will come down to sensible levels. There is absolutely no reason that a carbon bike should cost more than a high grade aluminium bike in this day and age.

Carbon vs Aluminum: Separating Environmental Fact From Fiction in the Frame Materials Debate
I actually dont see the point in stuff like this. Whatever we buy has an impact on environment, good or bad. Whatever we buy has pro's and con's. You like what you like and you don't what you don't.Thats life. Get over it and move on!

The REAL Story of That Single-Sided Carbon Fork
Im all for innovation. The mountain bike industry desparately needs game changing innovation for sure. Its long over due. However, this is doing something just for the sake of doing it. Completely pointless.

Now THAT Was a Bike: 1995 GT LTS
I owned a STS DH frame which looked and rode amazing. As stated the bushings were rubbish. The biggest design flaw was that as the suspension compressed it would whack the bottom of the saddle. I could never get my saddle down as low as i wanted because of this.

The Short, Turbulent Life of URT Suspension
I hated URT suspension back in the day and i hate them even more now. This total bollox of "suspend the rider not the bike" was the worst attitude towards mountain bike design that has ever existed. Hateful bloody things! Hope these so called designers are absolutly ashamed of themselves looking back at the monstrosities they created.

The Eyecatchers: 7 Intriguing New Bikes - Opinion
Right lets get something out there. This industry desperately needs brave and radical innovation. It needs someone out there to come out with a frame/suspension/gear/wheel design that overnight makes current designs 20 years obsolete. Why?....because designs have been stagnant for the best part of 20 years. Its just constant boring evolution of what we had before. I have got bored to the back teeth of un-inspiring designs and 100s of new bulls**t hub and offsetstandards to last a lifetime! FFS sort it out!!!

The Outlier - The Full Story of the Wild Insolent DH Bike
One of the reasons i have lost so much interest in mountain biking over the last few years is the complete lack of innovation. I find it unbelievable that carbon is still sold to us a an amazing thing..its not it been around for decades!! We are still using the spoked wheel. We are still using cassette gears and rear mechs. Yet we are told that all these new standards in hub sizes, offsets and wheel sizes are innovation! Its complete bollox. I wish Elon Musk made mountain bikes...we would be light years ahead of where we are now.
