We’re closing out season four of Rubber Side Down with a feature on one of the most passionate and interesting characters in the mountain bike scene – Boris Beyer.

In the final episode of this season's Rubber Side Down, we bring you the man behind the camera - and the majority of our mountain bike photos - Boris Beyer. Boris - a colorful German character typically found sporting his signature Bass Pro Shops hat - follows
both the World Cup downhill and Enduro World Series circuits to bring fans of mountain biking stunning images.

He's the one that keeps our IG feeds jam-packed with all the berm-blasting, cliff-hucking, speed-tucking, and champagne-showering that makes our sport great.

Our cameras followed Boris during Crankworx Whistler in August of 2019. Whistler is the final stop of the Crankworx World Tour and is also the biggest mountain bike festival in the world.

After 12+ hour days of shooting, the work isn't over for Boris as he heads back to his room to edit and upload thousands of photos, so we can bring you the latest action. It's the passion of people like Boris that remind us that mountain biking is supposed to be fun!

A big thank you to Joe Bowman and his team at Steel City Media for producing, filming, and editing the series for us this year!

Bumped into him at MSA this year. He used my buddy to vault over the fence and sprint for the finish just as Bruni crossed the line. Super nice guy, and he can run really fast.

Had the pleasure of meeting Boris in Rotorua, NZ. He is quite the character and brings a great levity to the sometimes over-serious racing pits. Great to see him getting some love here!

Initially got to know Boris like ages ago, even before he worked for MTB Rider. So stoked to see that he is still that passionate and generally stoked for MTB dude he ever was - and still has no idea where he is going. Wink

Crazy what they do and it’s all for us !

I wouldn’t ever want that job.Editing the whole night after shooting ? And write an article so that we àll enjoy reading the second day ? That’s a crazy amount of work !

Congrats to all working hard

Without people like you Boris we would also have fun on our bikes for sure but we would be without a job. Because nobody would actually see what we are doing whole season long. Thanks for your drive and passion you are already a legend. See you next season. THANK YOU.

So cool to see the passion that drives Boris and really all the squids to bring the stoke of riding bikes as a professional to all of us dreaming of only doing just that! Kudos to you all!

Man. I'd love to know what his workflow is like for editing. I shot around 1400 pictures for a race in fall and it took me like 4-5 days to get through them...

I know that Sven Martin uses Photo Mechanic for Mac to ingest his photos. He said he can mark them for all his needs, clients, racers, story. Nice program.
