It snags on bushes and hits more rocks than the short-cage, but shifts so much better that it's worth the extra headaches

put quite a bit of $$$ into my drivetrain, and basically came away with a completely different ride. wasn't happy at all with the stock set-up, it came with 2 rings up front and constantly dropped the chain. the little ring made NO sense at all to me cuz the bike probably weighs close to 45lbs, and who wants to pedal that kind of weight uphill. also put on a Gamut p-20 chainguide (but kept the raceface bashguard) because it is simple, light, and does its job really well.

I love my Saint shifter. didn't know a shifter could be so perfect, as long as you keep the cable tension right. I think I'd like to get some Saint brakes too, the Hayes are ok, but i'm not too confident in their ability to slow me down

Found this puppy up the mountain deep in the woods on one of my rides. if you want a real challenge, ride downhill through the woods with a puppy in one arm.
