5 Things We Learned from Red Bull Hardline Tasmania
@yoimaninja: it is possible but UCI is just the rubber stamp authority that holds the legitimacy as the governing body of cycling. It's not out there to run things, it just needs to make sure the rules are followed, for the most part.

@finnspin: yeah if you really read the comments there are some very common but wrong ideas and double standards. The more racing/ comps the better, as long as they're run well. Which can be done without Rob Warner

You're not wrong. I enjoyed watching the week leading up to the race more than the race itself. Multiple riders on course at once is more engaging.

@Starch-Anton: yeah but they own the rights so it kind of is their product even if they don't produce it

@inked-up-metalhead: every other high risk job in the world gets bonus pay? In developing countries, which is most of the world's population, you don't get rewarded for doing shit jobs. You do shit jobs because you have nothing better

@Motherloose: the only thing about having world champs there is that it probably is too hard. You'll have juniors from all over the world, and I didn't see much room for b lines. But yes all for it as the last world cup race to help decide the title

*was there for the sake of it. Some might say the pump track in the middle might be useless on a DH track but it beats just putting up some tape on open grass

I was going to agree with you but I rewatched 1199 first. The best sections of 1199 are better than Hardline Tasmania. The worst bits are worse than Hardline Tasmania. E.g. that low speed rock drop to slab to bermless corner in 1199, but also has open grass. I don't think hardline Tas had one section of trail that wasn't there for the sake of it
