Thailand Gravity Series Race 1 Suphanburi Race Report.
On Sunday 18 September Suphanburi played host to the first round of the Thailand Gravity Series.
Organised by Mojo Bikes and supported by fantastic sponsors Santa Cruz, Bike Zone, Garmin, Kite Cable Thailand, EVOC, Mojo Adventures, Buu Bike, and many others.
Racers from many countries were blessed with fine weather for race day after a welcome downpour overnight.
Well over one hundred racers enjoyed a superb and challenging track and times were fast in all categories. Feedback from racers was very positive and they enjoyed the track, the excellent organisation and the friendly and fun atmosphere.
Races were held in 14 categories.
The Men's Elite race win was taken by Thai Number 2, Suebsakun Sukchanya of Mojo Bikes Team who set a blistering time of 2:02.72, nearly 4 seconds faster than second place Tanaphon Jarupeng with a time of 2:06.17.
The Men's Open race was won by Milad Kamalzadeh all the way from Iran with a fast and smooth run in 2:17.96. He won by over 4 seconds from Willy Kerr who crashed early in his bid for the title.
Women's Elite was won by Thai champ Vipavee Deekaballes with a very quick 2:21.81. She was well ahead of second place in an otherwise closely fought category.
