When Pinkbike contacted us a few months ago we were very exited to be part of Share the Ride, so we started looking for the right kids to give bikes to. We also got in contact with Giant Bicycles Chile to ask them for a good deal on the bikes.

We called our friend Felipe Wedeles, one of the best windsurfers in Chile and former Junior DH Panamerican Champion that now a days owns Hotel Surazo in Matanzas to ask him how the MTB scene was over there. Matanzas is a small town very well know for windsurfing, also where Andes Pacifico 2015 will finish after 4 days of racing.

Felipe told us that over the last few years windsurfers have being trading in the sea for the mountains. They found a community of kids who wanted to ride but could not afford good bikes to ride.

So we chose 8 kids under 18 that were super motivated to rides bikes.

We set up a a date and we went to Matanzas December 16th to give them the bikes.

We wanted to give them really good bikes, that will last many years and that do not require much service, so along with Giant we chose 8 Giant Revel 3's in different sizes depending on the height of the kids, and one Louis Garneau helmet for each child.

Felipe Wedeles joined the 8 kids and their families to give them their bikes at the Hotel Surazo.

Eduardo de Solminihac, Director of Montenbaik was the intermediary between Pinkbike and the Matanza people.

The kids were a bit nervous and could not believe they were going to own one of these cool bikes!

The grandfather of one the kids that was sick received the bike for him.

After we gave the bikes they took them right away to test them in the streets of Matanzas.

PInkbike has been helping Montenbaik a lot on the promotion of Montenbaik Enduro series, so we were glad to be part of the Share the Ride project.

In the end the best part was to see the smiles on the kids' faces.
Thanks to everybody who donated to make this possible.
Cheers

I get the joy of working with a group that helps underprivileged youth ride mountain bikes in events in Iowa. The kids are the BEST and totaly appreciate every moment. (Some had never even went to Mc Donalds before). My hats off to all of you mountain bikers out there. Your bike donations, support of these great kids, and never ending freindship for these youth is beyond belief. Eternal thanks to Pinkbike for understanding this need to get people on bikes. Street racers suck, and flat out refuse to help. Mountain bikers are AMAZING.

So awesome to see this! Giant has some great marketing. I work at a shop that sells Specialized and Giant; Specialized GAVE Paul Brandt (a rich ass country singer) a free $2500 bike to help promote their brand whereas Giant does something that actually makes a difference. Keep it up!
