The snow has melted, the birds are singing and the Moose Mountain Bike Trail Society
(MMBTS) is gearing up for another great year at Moose Mountain. Come out and help stir our trails out of hibernation at the first trail day of the year on Saturday May 8th.
More details inside,
Thanks to
our relationship with the Alberta Government, we have been able to obtain a key to the fire road gate for trail maintenance purposes. This gives us the unique opportunity to buff out the trails and grow the flow before opening weekend, ensuring that there will be nothing, but smiles and shreddin’ once the road opens up to the public on May 15th. Grab whatever tools you have (shovels, rakes, clay picks, Mcleods) and join us at the
Ing’s Mine Parking Lot at 10:30 AM on Saturday, May 8th. If you haven’t built trails before or don’t have access to tools, don’t worry!
MMBTS has plenty of extra tools to go around and is always eager to help new trail builders get started.
Trails on the hit list include Billy Dog, Toothless, Jean-Guy on the Rocks, Pneuma, T-Dub, Special K, SLF, Race of Spades and Brakeless. We’ll have leaders to help organize the crew on each trail and plan to work mainly on general maintenance, buffing and clearing any winter blow down. We plan to work until around 4ish and then head to the 2km locale where we’ll be having a BBQ with beverages for all.
MMBTS will also be selling memberships, and our brand new 2010 T-shirts and bad, but rad trucker hats! Grab your riding buddies and help make this the best year yet at Moose Mountain. Everyone is welcome to come out and help, a little labor goes a long way!
MMBTS had a spectacular season last year. The massive amount of time and effort that has been poured into the trails within the last year has seen the creation of a whole new level of fast and flowy fun! There has never been a better time to get involved in your riding community.
MMBTS welcomes you to the 2010 riding season and encourages you to join the movement and find your flow!
See you there, no excuses.
If I do, should I bring a bike, or are we going to be accessing everything on foot?
