Summer and riding! That is an awesome combo, isn't it?

We tagged along Enduro World Series rider, Alexander Kangas on a visit to the Swedish Bike Park JBP, one truly important place for downhill riding in the S-land of Scandinavia. This was one of the days you sort of know you will remember for a long time. Just perfect weather, a bit slippery conditions making it an all time day for shooting a mountain bike video.

We made the choice to run the lines Itsy Bitsy and A-Tad to Small knowing Alexander's riding would stand out as he's one of the fastest enduro riders in Sweden. His ability to just flow along the lines generating the amount of speed needed to steal KOMs after KOMs on these trails are worth a look.

I agree. Swedish smoothie I would say, ha ha!!!

@MountainbikeSTHLM: It's written on the video Sweetie

But it would be cool if there was a timpani hit every time I launched off a jump.

And Åre? Been there and it was fantastic. Annoying to see they felt the need to say "all other places are pointless".
Please swedish riders confirm, is JBP better?
  • + 3
But we didn't. We said one, not the only one. Åre is a great place.
  • + 1
 My bad sorry

The rumor has it that Järvsö is better than Åre, despite being smaller and if you want to go north, drive no further than Hafjell. This is how I was brought up by fellow Swedes... never been in Åre though... not so interested since it takes almost same time from Gothenburg to get to Schladming or Morzine as to Åre, and you don't drive on deer, moose and speed cam infested roads, at 80km/h, slowly but surely wanting to kill everyone in the world out of sheer boredom

@WAKIdesigns: Just came home from Åre last week! It was awesome, even though it rained all week Razz
The ride from Denmark was crazy long.. But we had been in Hemavan first, so Åre was on the way home!
If I have to go there again, I'd buy some plane tickets!

No it isn't, but no one said that either

No need to get so defensive, it's not list of ingredients of baby food. Super cool video. I saw you guys ride in person, you fkng rule. Even when you get lost... Big Grin

Järvsö is nice, but Åre is much bigger and it has a lot more variety with trails. Also clear difference is that there aren't many natural trails in JBP(at least those that were marked on the trail map), while Åre has more natural stuff to ride too... I definitely recommend visiting Åre too, and maybe spend a day at JBP on your way up north... Smile

Bloody Åre, caught a bit of sidewind on the big table at the bottom and slipped a pedal, shattered my calcaneus, on the first day of riding this year Blank Stare
Went there last year too, such a nice place to ride, might have to try Järvsö next time, just a bit annoying that I have to drive almost 20 hours to get to any of them.

@WAKIdesigns: No way, no how. My summer cottage is in Söderhamn, so I go to Järvsö quite a bit to ride JBP. It is a very good local park, but for scale, it does not compare to Åre. That said, I will credit them for doing what they have done. It is a very good park, and it took some inspiration and lots of work to get where they are.

Feel for the guy. Top riding, making it all look SOOOO smooth and effortless.... ...and here's everyone having a natter about which is the best bike park in Scandinavia. KUDOS to the rider, wish I could ride like that!!!

Don't get.all excited thinking it is some new bike park (like I did). JBP=Järvsö Bergscykel Park

Opening shot looks like the trail was sprayed with herbicide they use that to know where they sprayed that shit. I hope the green was used to identify the rocks cause we don't need to be breathing that!

No ABBA? Did I read the title wrong?

I find it extremely interesting how POC could have sponsored Team Sky, yet they rarely sponsor a Swedish athlete, regardless of sport or discipline. Vast majority of top Swedish Athletes in sports requiring helmets, are not sponsored by POC.
