Press Release: Downhill Southeast

Downhill Southeast is proud to announce our 2021 race schedule today. This past summer we saw record turnouts for each venue, lots of new riders, and competitive racing. The introduction of two racecourses allowed us to offer a fun welcoming experience to new racers while maintaining the technically challenging race courses that our advanced riders expect. We partnered with Zone 4 timing to provide live timing, split times, and live results which helps to keep a punctual race program. Downhill Southeast is a well oiled machine, and we plan to further refine that at our events in 2021.

Quality racecourses shape the next generation, and we are working closely with each venue to offer a fun and progressive amateur course along with a challenging pro course that will give our advanced riders valuable race experience. To build on that, we've added some new categories for the upcoming season that will keep riders in close competition, and encourage more youth participation. Our largest numbers were in our junior categories and that's a great sign for the future.

2021 Race Schedule
- May 1-2 Massanutten Resort - McGaheysville, VA
- June 12-13 Snowshoe Mountain - Snowshoe, WV
- July 24-25 Windrock Bike Park - Oliver Springs, TN
- Aug 7-8 Sugar Mountain - Sugar Mountain, NC

@Melon055: haha, that's why I'm thinking I need a Chilcotin 167. A mini-DH 29er is the only way I'm not going to get laughed out of Windrock by the enduro pros that train there! I'm trying to show up to a 250 race on a disguised 450!

Yeah I’m pumped for this. No need for a new bike! Throw the trail bike into low setting and let it rip. Nothing like a proper underbiking session.

I love this series, timing is always on point and is so smoothly run compared to some other series out there. What a great atmosphere also

Neko! You’re the man thanks for putting on these races. It’s taken me to a new level of riding and has made me push myself! Can’t wait to race them all!

So stoked for another year of DHSE! I really wish we could get some junior/senior women’s splits in the groups though. Even if it was just juniors and 30+ !

I'm doing it. Go to pick up my first DH bike in several years today. Monster truck compared to my old Turner DHR (I miss that thing)
