A stolen bike is returned to the owner thanks to Airtag tracking

Last week a friend told me about a biker who got his stolen bike back thanks to Apple Airtag tracking.
I contacted the biker and am allowed to report his case here. The owner of the bike was previously unknown to me and I contacted him by email and am allowed to tell his case here.

bigquotes... my mountain bike was stolen from my apartment locker and I was able to find it in a locked room nearby with some Airtags that I had on the bike, one of which was using your mounts.bike owner

The bicycle owner had attached two Airtags to his bike: he had attached one Airtag in the bike frame using some tape. He installed the second Airtag with the NINJA MOUNT bikeTag saddle on the bicycle saddle. The bike thief hadn't noticed either.

The NINJA MOUNT bikeTag saddle played a special role in finding the bike:

bigquotesThe mount was particularly good because my bike was locked in a concrete room and the signal was very weak. I couldn't easily find the Airtag in my frame, but the one in the mount had a much stronger signal.bike owner

The bike that was able to return to its happy owner is a Spezialized Levo.
