Press Release: NOBL Wheels

We’re stoked to announce the launch of Commencal-NOBL factory racing, a UCI Downhill World Cup trade team that will be competing in the full 2021 World Cup calendar. This will be our 2nd year in partnership with Antoine Pierron and Matteo Iniguez who have worked tirelessly to build the team from the ground up. For 2021, they brought on junior riders Siel Van Der Velden and Raphael Iniguez to complete the roster and we can't wait to see what they'll achieve!

NOBL will be providing wheels in partnership with Industry Nine for the duration of the year and you can expect to see our TR37’s and TR38’s on the world stage throughout the season. Along with racing, the team will take on a valuable feedback and product development role. There aren't many testing grounds better than the World Cup circuit.

Matteo and Antoine may be young, but they're far from inexperienced. At 20 years old they're running their own race team and consistently qualifying at Elite World Cups. They'll be gunning for the top 20 this year, and there's no doubt in our mind they'll make that happen.

Siel was no stranger to the podium at the Junior World Cups in 2020 and we know she'll be gunning for that top spot in 2021. Based on her pre-season videos from the Commencal Test Track she's ready to get racing. Raphael will be making the big switch from XC racing and is looking to tear up the Junior DH category.

Is there a world cup team that doesnt have a Commencal or a Pieron?

The pants need to be tighter if they want to have a chance at winning.

Commencal really has some €€€€ to sponsor like 90% of the field

Commencal and Light-Bicycle, to be fair...

Maybe there's something to that "direct to consumer" model ....
  • 3 1
@ericinissi: direct to consumer +. It’s where you sell direct to consumer, but instead of cutting 40% off you only cut 6% off. That way you still get all the benefits of direct to consumer, but you also make a shit stack of cash.

 Nobl wheels are nice AF.

indeed. I have absolutely abused my TR37s for well over a year. Not a single issue. checked them about a month ago and all the tensions are EXACTLY where I built them to. lol. I would like to take the credit here as I do know what I am doing building a strong wheel, but I also know you can't build something strong with a sus wheel....I am looking at you Stan's....

@conoat: the new flow rims are such trash. The old version with the arch design were indestructible. WTF happened?
  • 4 0
@conoat: hmn cause Im about to order some NOBL mullet ones but I had RESERVE for 2 seasons with no issues....so they are good and strong as well...GooD to KnoW !

@Leo48333: flow MK3 are weak. Stans released a flow EX3 a couple years ago to address this issue that incorporates the arch.

bought my second set of 37s. Bulletproof!!!

@conoat: I resent deeply that Stans are stock on so many bikes. MK3 Flow came stock on my Marin and they start to come out of true every few months no matter how well they're built. I don't even ride the damn thing that much.

Hasn’t Commencal talked smack about carbon and it’s inability to be recycled?

The primary photo could substitute for the cover photo on The Romantics first album (w/ the ubiquitous "What I Like About You" song).

NOBL rim price is alright but their premium for different coloured stickers is insane. $40usd, wtaf?
  • 1 0
while that's true, I think what they are doing is telling you something.....either pony up, or STFU. lol. I respect that.
