X-Fusion's $199 Manic Dropper Post - Review
Just my take on X-Fusion, and why I can't ever look at another post form them. I have the original Hilo, which has been nothing but a nightmare. It broke down yearly, I have had to send it in 3 times, and each time pay $50 to have it re built. They said to have the seat serviced yearly, in order to maintain warranty. I got the dropper post in 2014, it has been sent in 3x since 2014 and each time I still had to pay $50 to have it fixed, EVEN when by their rules it was in warranty, as it has had non stop service. Now they no longer service, or warranty the HILO, it has been outsourced to mad suspension. Mad charged $150 to service the seat post, which is beyond absurd. To even get a reply from X-fusion you have to e-mail them, you can't get customer support on the phone. I explained to them my issue, how my dropper broke yet again. I said in detail its been sent in 3x since 2014, even the information is in their data base, as mad suspension saw how many times it has been sent in, yet he could not warranty the product with out them. My response from X-Fusion was VERY blunt and useless. They said we no longer warranty the seat post, you have to have it serviced yearly to keep warranty. We now outsource all the repairs, and can't subsidize the cost of repair for you.......OK Maybe they missed the fact that I sent this in every year, paid $40 every year to have it rebuilt from when it broke. Even though I was VERY specific in my reply. So I replied again, and explained in more detail the nature of my issue, and that it is IN warranty and they have to fix this. I got no response, I have re sent e-mails direct, and through the site again. I am getting no replies, no service they are basically telling me to F off, we don't care about you or your warranty So end result to the rant/rave if you buy a seat post, or any product from X-Fusion prepare for it to break down non stop. Prepare to pay for service even when it's in warranty, and prepare for them to outsource repairs to a repair shop that will charge 80% of the cost of a new seat post. Expect to get ZERO help from X-Fusion, zero responses. So basically if you buy anything from them, they will take your money and leave you in the ditch. X-fusion is the worst company I have dealt with, their product is complete junk, their customer support is non existent and they are complete crooks STAY FAR AWAY FROM THEM AT ALL COSTS!!!!
