Why does this music match so well? Somehow it just works. The riding is crazy good. I like the cameos of other riders, and they all crash (except 1). That's funny.
To be fair you could probably put 1000 different songs to this video & it would work, but many songs would not. Still, I think its perfect and I'd love to know who the artist is...
@panthermodern: Or The Clash or The Kinks or The Cure or The Police or Duran Duran or any other U.K. rock band from the past 80 years. Friggen sick edit, love the shot of the splash then airing it out.
The music really reminds me of a lot of the stuff that Alex Rankin put in the Earthed films. The best example I can think of is the opening segment of Earthed 4 with Brendog and Ralph Jones as it had a sick Bauhaus tune in it. Basically post-punk and gothic rock should be used in more edits
Ronan is so good. Definitely one of the top riders I cheer for on race day. And he seems like such a good kid. Killing it on the race track then back on the tractor during the week.
@PawnSacrifice: seems such a good dude. Loved his WYN TV interview at MSA when he qualified ahead of Vergier and after seeing Vergier’s run, “where’s this bastard going? Jheeeezus”
Brilliant. Definitely a favourite rider for me. Imagine what he could do in downhill with a full factory deal.
If you enjoyed this I highly recommend giving the Making Up The Numbers podcast he did a couple weeks ago, the loosest of units.
1) I'm a US Irish descent Caldwell, need to find if related 2) music is totally 80's but I can't pin it - anyone? 3) very dangerous truck cornering at the end, not recommended 4) that effing splash moment is epic - that should be the cover of the Jan 2023 Pinkbike magazine 5) love that Dunne is wearing full white, does not care if he's dirty 6) holy balls Ronan is completely insane, should've posted that 1st but it seems obvious 7) this is what happens when the Irish potato famine is in your DNA but that's also in my DNA so I can say that # almost named my kick Ronan but it was a girl so didn't; also if you type 8 and then parentheses, it makes the smiley-face emoji with sunglasses 9) Dunne hits sloppy ruts & berms faster than any of us will ever rail a dry one 10) as I think about it, being in the back of the truck is probably the worst decision in this video
PS, that splash image is completely insane. Will pay for a hi-res copy of that.
The only part of this I didn't like was them hanging all over the truck while it was drifting. That is one small miscalculation away from a lifetime of regret.
Otherwise, banger edit.
@PawnSacrifice: I will take a listen. Few of us regret when things don't go wrong. I've seen enough stupid things go sideways to know that this could've ended tragically. Manage risks.
I have been feeling so unenthused to get out and ride in our wet summers my part of the world. Watching this is like wet weather viagra. Time to go to brown town . life is not all loam surfing and grabbing ass. Hats off to a fantastic edit!
I rode a Mega recently. It It was surprisingly playful on blue trails. I didn't get to send it down too much gnar, but in general I was super impressed.
That's his bike from world champs I think? Freakin love how it looks. Would love to have a bike with that green. The accents in the paint were a nice touch too
Not a fan of wet riding but he makes it look awesome! PS: Those trails need some proper drainage though PPS: Can't believe brands can't build a DH bike with a steeper seat angle so the saddle doesn't hit the tyre at bottom out!
