Winter rolls around each year and every time we forget that it has done this forever... Cast to the shadows from the summer memories of dust, travel and good times on 2 wheels.
With this being my first winter in the UK for a number of years i set about how i could make it a good one... Getting a spot on the Cube UK Factory team was a good start.
After a solid first season racing the UKGE and finishing 8th overall in Elite the stokevation was there in bucket loads for a wet, cold and dark UK winter, full of two wheeled antics.
A Quick call to Cube to sort out my winter thrashing bike was next... All they had in stock was a 140 Stereo 29er, that will have to do then!
I was quietly excited about this bike.... Will it be faster? How will it handle? Will my mates still go riding with me?
The first ride did not go well, some big crashes and brand new kit ripped.
Second ride out i had the hallelujah moment... I started accelerating through a bog, on the flat, without pedalling.
Since then i have been trying to find something this bike cant do... So far im failing, hitting big jumps, techy decents, steep ascents all at break neck speed
Im pretty sure this winter would have been just as fun on any bike but that little bit of extra grip and rolling speed has helped make it a real good time.
Roll on summer, roll on racing and let the good times roll (in whatever wheelsize you like).
A massive Thank You to Cube UK for keeping me rolling on such a rad bike, Exposure lights for supplying me with the tools to light the trails and Ride.io for there ongoing support.
Good Speed.
