New For 2021

We’re stoked to announce the Yeti / OneUp Pro Team. The EWS team brings together Australian MTB legend Jared Graves and Squamish rookie Kasper Woolley.

Two generations of speed.

Jared Graves

Graves is an EWS World Champion, an Olympian (he came 6th in BMX in Beijing!) and a multi-disciplinary racing machine. Recently, he's stood on the podium at both road and XC races after recovering from brain cancer in 2019. Pretty inspiring stuff. The 38 year-old Australian will mentor Kasper and help the young gun turn raw talent into consistent race results.

Kasper Woolley

Kasper is a Squamish local who turned heads in 2020 with 9 podiums at the Crankworx Summer Series and a win at the Winter Park BME over a stacked field, including fellow Yeti rider Richie Rude. This will be his first full season on the EWS.

Built For Racing

Yeti / OneUp will be racing a packed schedule of EWS and BME events in Europe and North America on the Yeti SB-150 fully kitted with OneUp Carbon Handlebar, Stem, Chain Guide, Dropper and EDC Tools. The bikes are rounded out with Shimano drivetrains and brakes, Fox Suspension and Maxxis rubber.

Probably not the best mentor. Ask Richie

Having Graves be a mentor is like having Lance Armstrong as a mentor. Both know the best way to use performance enhancers and try to beat the system. Sad that the industry condones this type of behavior.

Great to see Graves back full stop....fuck cancer
  • 24 5
@digitalsoul: lots of people make mistakes. some would say everyone makes mistakes.

@parkisatool: learning from the best multitool in the industry sounds like a treat to me

 @parkisatool:

Graves took his penalty and now he's back. I wish him well and am amazed he's returned to professional competition in his late 30's post cancer.

Not that it matters, and this could turn into a whole discussion, but he wasn't using epo/testosterone/hgh/steroids/whatever. The banned substances seemed like easily available supplements that are popular amongst performance athletes, but banned for certain competitors/sports. To me that's less egregious but I know someone will chime in that "cheating is cheating" and that's definitely true.

It's wild how little nuance people see. In one thread, we've got people raking Graves over the coals for taking a common supplement, and in another we've got people going to extreme lengths to defend a guy who has more juice in his blood stream than blood and looks like a ball of roots wrapped in saran wrap.

 @jayacheess: polarization

the mediators here will suppress an option they deem to not match their own (and heaven forbid you write the ‘f’ word. People then feel their voice cannot be heard, so they shout louder. Its a self perpetuating cycle…just mirrors broader society. But back to pinkbike

I’ve been commenting on pinkbike for more than a decade (different account cos it got locked when I deleted a picture), back in the day it used to be fun. Now its just conform to the social norm (of the current user group ie try not to get downvote) or narrative that is needed to support the current advertising.

It’s getting a bit sad. The whole model of this website was built on the comment section…i guess that foundation will not last

I think rather than trying to simplify the arc of the story that was the ban, people should just read the summary articles (search "Graves ban" in the pinkbike search bar).

"epo/testosterone/hgh/steroids/whatever" is quite a varied group to lump in together. The bans were for WADA "Specified Substances", a sub-classification of "Prohibited Substances". Whether or not we believe it's "less egregious" we can refer to WADA's description:

"A “Specified Substance or Method” is that which potentially allows, under defined conditions, for a greater reduction of a sanction when an athlete tests positive for that particular substance."

" “Specified” substances or methods are not necessarily less effective doping agents than “Non-Specified” ones, nor do they relieve athletes of the strict liability rule that makes them responsible for all substances that enter their body."

@digitalsoul: How about success across 3 disciplines where drug testing was present? No?
  • 5 4
@digitalsoul: totally agree, they caught them cheating!! I really support that team back in 2015 but men, what and a*sholes i dont understand will People continue to support that cheaters, well lets get downvoted Big Grin

Fantastic to see Graves back racing and the Yeti Oneup team looks a good one, Kasper is a gun. My opinion on negative comments - if you want to find the criminal in the room, start with the holier-than-thou finger pointers shouting from the bench. They're the ones with the most to hide.

Get over the bottle bs. The man is a cancer survivor and all around bad ass on a bike. Well done YETI and One Up!

 Still a cheater.

 @parkisatool: and you a tool?

Haters gonna hate. Stuck in the mud under the bridge is a bummer way to go thru life.

 @parkisatool: says the russian....
  • 9 2
Totally agree Jeremy4130. Everyone makes mistakes in life and Jared has paid the penalty for his, time to move on. I personally wish him well and believe he deserves to prove he has learned from his mistakes. If he in fact has, who better as a mentor Kasper?

I'm still waiting for the Yeti/Colgate team - 9 out of 10 dentists recommend it.
  • 11 3
Nah, dentists aren't thrilled with Yeti anymore, now its more like Atherton-Robot/whatever UK brushes their teeth with... oh wait never mind
  • 19 1
They tried the dentist backed team but it’s tough to race EWS on Crest rims.
  • 20 1
What a great combo team between those two. Nice job Yeti!
  • 52 33
 Take my bottle!
  • 13 0
Kasper Wooley is going to change the game

  • 13 3
Nice to see those bikes have empty bottle mounts

  • 5 0
Can't wait to see what Kasper does in the future! Such a sick rider
  • 2 0
Not a Graves fan at all. I remember when he was asked how much psi he runs and he wouldn't answer, like it was top secret.. Oh and the water bottle story too. Get over yourself Graves.

Turquoise oneup edc top cap when?
  • 6 2
Yetis are just so good looking
  • 1 0
Arghhh. That Kasper Woolley sticker right below the Yeti logo on the top tube would drive me to distraction. Design the man a custom sticker using a font with a matching angle of italicisation.
  • 5 2
 Man, that bike is beautiful
  • 4 1
Well there’s two brands I didn’t see collabing
  • 3 0
Wonder how many frames per season they are allotted?
  • 2 0
Just Wondering Why Kasper is using EX1700 wheels instead of EX1501 wheels...or the EX511 rims with DT 240/350 hubs
  • 1 0
they are a special build wheel that come with the sb150
  • 1 0
While I appreciate that Jared get s a nice intro...who the hell is reading this article and saying "who's this Jared guy?"
  • 2 0
Double DHF’s good call. All the best to the young Canadian
  • 2 0
Maybe I missed something...what happened to Richie?!?!
  • 1 2
He's racing for Yeti? What did you miss?
  • 1 0

  • 3 1
 Where's Rude?
  • 5 0
 On the factory team
  • 2 1
@sarahmoore could we please get Kasper on PB Enduro fantasy?
  • 4 0
 he is.
  • 3 0
@Gdg1: Oh lol yes he is, sorry Sarah
  • 2 2
this release fails to mention that jared is out of the first two european races. strange omission.
  • 2 0
Check his Instagram but essentially COVID travel restrictions for non US citizens entering the US after being in Europe without mandatory two week quarantine. Whatever US events he had planned were higher priority than the first two rounds in Europe.
  • 2 0
 Congrats Kasper
  • 2 1
What a comeback! Would be sweet if he won a race, or even podium.
  • 1 0
All aboard the gravy train! Toot Toot
  • 1 1
