@Skinnyman: sorry fella, it was directed at Tiez in support of your point. Kinda funny that this part of the banter seems to have touched such a nerve with the downvoters.

@fred-frod: @Skinnyman: the commercial enterprises that paid for this tourism ad were set up in a time of international tourism. Tourism was one of New Zealand’s largest sources of income and enjoyed by millions of international visitors. Lots of people care about money, not least the people who own the helicopters. You can’t blame them for trying to stoke the fire to visit when the borders open. My earlier point was a slightly tongue in cheek observation that having a moan about helibiking, in a country on the other side of the world that you have to fly to then drive around in your hire car to take your sweat shop made dork chariot on a slow ride down a flow trail in your future micro plastic enduro clown suit seems a little silly. We all have choices in how we reduce our carbon emissions. You can make choices on how to reduce your footprint or at least keep it as low as it can be in the choices that you make.

Fly down to NZ when the boarders open and give it a go. If you use an airline company with efficient planes and few stopovers you’ll offset the helicopter emissions compared to less efficient airlines.

Manitou Introduces Limited Sterling Silver Edition of the Mezzer Pro Fork
@jwizzler: a few of the early ones did, when they first came out. That problem also occurred on a batch of Fox 38’s, and is not unique to other manufacturers and other problems in early batches of new stuff anywhere. What is unfortunate, but probably a good learning for Manitou, is that Mike Kazimer was sent some faulty ones and they got some high profile negative exposure at the time of release. Long story short, that problem has been fixed some time ago with a new lower casting. These forks work great!
